What I’ve been up to:

As you read this we should be driving to Colorado to go camping for a few day. I’ve booked a campground just west of Durango, CO.

Here is a photo of our third dog, Mandu. Mandu is a Korean word for dumpling, my daughter named him. When my son rescued him, he was skinny, and he had a skin condition, but now, he’s got beautiful thick fur, and he’s a tiny bit chubby 🙂 He’s a nervous dog and doesn’t like loud noises or thunderstorms. But, he’s very loving and sweet. He’s the first one to greet me when I come home, and he always wants to be close by. Unlike his sister and brother, he’s never been in much trouble and he seems to know he has a pretty good life. I have nicknamed him “In and out burger” because he constantly wants to go outside and back inside all day long.

Last week I read:

I had an excellent week of reading, all the books were very good!

Next week I hope to get to:

What I Watched:

Along with most of the world, I watched the news about the very sad passing of Queen Elizabeth II.

My mother and father were both born and raised in England, then moved to Canada after the war. They met married and had 4 children in Canada before we all immigrated to the US when I was a small child. Anytime the royal family was on the news, my mother would have the TV on and we’d all watch. My mother was the same age as the queen and just loved her, as we all did.

  1. I hope you enjoyed your camping trip! Did you have nice weather in Colorado? Mandu is beautiful! I love his nickname. LOL All of your reads this past week look so good! I want to read them all! I loved Rules of Magic. I need to get to the next in the series. I was sorry to hear about the passing of the Queen. I remember being so excited to see her in person when she visited California many years ago. It was from a great distance, but it felt like such an honor. I hope you are having a great week!

  2. I hope you are enjoying your camping trip, Wendy. We were all very sad about Queen Elizabeth II here, but she certainly had a wonderful, long life. She will be missed for sure. I will be reading Sarah Morgan’s book this week, as I am on the blog tour. I will watch for you review of The Thread Collectors. Have a wonderful week.

  3. My dad’s parents migrated from England to Canada where he was born as well. His two older siblings were born in England though. It’s sad about the Queen. She’s seems to have been a very steadfast ruler looking out for the good of her people. As much as she could anyhow.

I’ll be reading that Sarah Morgan soon too. Can you believe we’re already getting Christmas reads?

    • I think a lot of people emigrated to Canada from UK, especially after the war. So interesting. It’s crazy that we’re reading Christmas books already

  4. Mandy sure looks like a sweetie! I’m so happy that he has improved so much since coming to you ❤️. Have fun camping in Colorado!!! I bet you’ll have some gorgeous photos!

  5. Not sure if my last comment went through! I just wanted to say I’m jealous of your trip! Have a blast! Mandu is adorable. Do you take the dogs camping with you? When in Rome is on my TBR, and I can’t wait for the new Jesse Q. Sutanto book either! Have a great week!

    • We do not take the dogs with us. Technically they belong to our son, and they are large dogs. We have a large yard at home that they love, so my son and daughter take care of them when we camp.

  6. I hope you enjoy your time away Wendy! Your dogs are all beautiful. I enjoyed hearing about your past – especially that you were born in Canada! Have a wonderful week ahead.

  7. Mandu is gorgeous 💕 Our previous dog was a rescue…I think they know when they’re on to a good thing 😉 Have a lovely week.
