What I’ve been up to? Snowed In!

Last week we had a 3-day snowstorm that dropped 12″ of snow at our house and over 30″ of snow on the other side of town! The snow started last Saturday night and continued until Tuesday Night. And then we had another full day of snow on Friday. We normally get snow here in the winter, but this was a lot all at once for us. Also, the snow plows couldn’t keep up with the snow, so the roads were bad. Luckily, we knew the storm was coming, so we stocked up and stayed inside just about all week.

Balto loves the snow!

Last week I read:

Being snowed in means I got a lot of reading done. They were all good! My favorite was The Office BFFs. It’s great if you’re a fan of the show as I am.

  1. My dog would be so excited if we had that much snow. I would not be excited in the slightest though! I’m so glad you enjoyed the Office BFFs. I thought it was so fun to hear all the behind the scenes stuff and found their stories so interesting.

  2. Balto is enjoying the snow as much as my neighbor’s dog, Missy, is enjoying our snow! Those mountains look amazing.

I love Ginny & Georgia so much!!

  3. Wow, that’s a big storm. I’m glad you all were prepared for it and had a little fun, too.

Becoming was a good read. Hope you like it.

  4. That is lots of snow, but it is wonderful that your dogs love it. I haven’t listened to Spare yet, but hope to soon. Enjoy all you pick up this week.

  5. I find it funny that you’ve gotten more snow lately than I have, and I live in Canada! We may get a huge dumping later this week, but life will still continue as normal.

The snow is beautiful! 😍 We don’t get much in Kentucky and when we do it lasts for a few days to a week and then its gone lol.

  7. Not Your Exes Hexes has a TW of animal cruelty. I find that hard to believe beyond a mention of the background of an animal they’re treating. You’ll have to let me know. I’m not sure why I even looked at TWs for it. I generally don’t for romcoms.

And, wow! Snowed in! We haven’t even seen a flake yet this year. Glad you stocked up.

  8. It’s been clear here, but cold. Still warm enough to get outside. It’s supposed to rain and possibly snow here next week. Thankfully, I won’t have to drive in it because I took the week off as we were supposed to go out to Cannon Beach, OR but we canceled the trip because the weather out there is going to be terrible.

Your snow looks pretty but I wouldn’t want to drive in it! Nice that you were able to stock up and stay home. Safer that way and like you said gives you an excuse to read. Balto looks like he’s living his best life! So cute.

I should look into The Office BFFs. Love that series!

  9. Your mountains are beautiful. My favorite snow is when it snows during the day so I can watch it. In OK we are due to get a snow Wednesday–probably 2-3″–maybe.😉 In NM where our cabin is, we have had snow more like you have. Our neighbor has our drive and road plowed when she has hers plowed, and three plowings have been needed this month with two just recently. Beautiful, but a great time to be inside…and read!

  10. Being snowed in sounds kinda fun, but I must say I’m getting tired of the snow around here! It seem to be the default now that every day just means more snow. So different from previous years. Way to go on all the reading! I hope to get my hands on Spare sometime. What a hot commodity right now!

  11. We got a little snow here this morning but it’s already melted. Nothing like what you guys got!

The Hastings book looks fun and I kind of want to read The Spare too.

  12. It is snowing an inch per hour here and I am a bit worried! My tires are not great and it was hard getting home earlier, but I have to work tomorrow. Hoping it stops and the roads get cleared. I am really looking forward to Dell and Darby!

    • We used to have 2 smaller dogs and they hated the snow too. But, these big dogs seem to enjoy it. I hope you have a great week, Anne.

  13. Looks like some great books! I’m amazed you can read or listen to all of those in one week. I am lucky if I listen to or read just one book a week…sometimes two. 🙂 I wish we would get some snow. It’s been too warm for that so far this winter. Have a great week!

  14. Your mountain view is gorgeous! I hope you were warm and cozy. I’m listening to Spare on audio off and on. I think the ghostwriter did a really good job with the writing.

  15. We keep getting warnings about a week ahead that there is snow coming, then all we get is a dusting here in town. I’m hoping for a few snow days this year, as I feel it is the only bonus teachers get. Plus, like you said, great for reading! You’ve got several books you read on my TBR. Can’t wait to read your reviews!

  16. Janette

We had about half an inch of snow in the middle of the week but it has been very cold. Your scenery looks gorgeous Wendy although I’m not sure that I would enjoy it all that much as I’m not a fan of cold weather. It does mean more time for reading though which has to be good😃

    • I don’t mind the snow now that I don’t have to go out into it to go to work. I think I will end up somewhere with a more moderate temperature eventually

  17. That’s a lot of snow Wendy – I’m glad you could just hunker down (yeah for retirement!). I hope that you enjoy Becoming as much as I did (the audiobook is well done). I hope your weather warms up. Have a wonderful week ahead!

  18. Balto looks in his element! These photos kind of make me miss having snow during winter… Although only until I think of what it was REALLY like having to deal with daily life and snow. xD I hope you will have a great week and happy reading!

  19. That photo of the mountains looks like something from a magazine. Glad you were prepared to stay home and stay off the roads. Perfect opportunity to gets lots of reading in. I’ve been meaning to read Obama’s Becoming for so long. Hope you enjoy it!

  20. Wow! That’s a lot of snow and the pictures are beautiful. Balto definitely looks like a snow dog! I’m glad you were prepared and got to stay in reading. Just My Type looks good and I’ve seen Spare all over lately. Enjoy your books this week!

  21. Wow! Gorgeous pictures Wendy! At least you get to stay in and admire all that beauty and didn’t have to go out in it! Have a wonderful week and happy reading!🤗📚💜

  22. Wow, look at all that snow! Glad you were prepared and that you got some good cozy reading time in. Our pup loves the snow, too. We haven’t had much snowfall yet this year, but hopefully she’ll get to play in some good snow at least a couple of times before winter is over.

    • Eventually, I think I want to live in a place that doesn’t have any snow at all, but for now, I”m enjoying having the seasons.

    • Thank you, Jenny. Being snowed in wasn’t hard at all. We knew the storm was coming, so we had stocked up on food and supplies.
