What I’m up to:

Football!! Today is the Super Bowl and we’re a football family, so we’ll be watching. We’re RAMs fans, so go Rams! We used to live in Illinois, just across the river from St. Louis, MO. When my son was playing high school football, we’d take him to Ram’s games when they had home games. The Rams were not doing very well, so the tickets were cheap, and we found a bus service that would take us from the mall in Illinois right to the stadium doors for only $5 per person roundtrip. I really enjoyed the stadium atmosphere and loved to people watch. We haven’t been to a game in a few years, but we still love to watch the games on TV.

I have ribs, wings, chips, veggies and dip, potato salad, and lemon meringue pie on our SuperBowl menu.

Last week I read:

Next week I hope to get to:

What I watched:

I was reluctant to watch the Kids Baking Championship when it first started because I don’t like to watch reality shows with children as I worry about exploitation. But, I started watching this a couple of years ago when I was at my sisters’ house. These kids seem super excited to be on the show, and the hosts appear to be very caring. And these kids are super talented!

  1. I bet you had a fantastic Super Bowl night and your menu sounds great! You also had a great reading week. The Rose Code is on my TBR. I listened to The Alice Network last year and really loved it. Enjoy your new books and have a wonderful week.

  2. I loved that you’re watching the Kids Baking Championship! It’s one of my favorite shows. Well, all of the Baking Championships are. I hope you enjoyed the Super Bowl and I hope the Rams won. I honestly have no idea about anything Super Bowl except what happened with Eminem. My husband and I aren’t really into Football so we started the new season of Disenchantment on Netflix. I hope you have a good week!

  3. The game is in the background as I type this comment. My husband is watching and I’m in and out watching the commercials. I’m snacked out and craving a good dinner right now, lol! We’re rooting for the Rams to being in Southern California. Sounds like you had some fun attending the games in person! Enjoy the game and happy reading, Wendy! 🙂

  4. I hope you enjoy the game! This used to be my favorite day to go to the movies or shopping because everyone else was watching the game. LOL My dad was big into football when I was growing up and so it was always on television, college and professional. I never caught the bug though. I do remember going to a couple of the 49er games at Candlestick Stadium, back when they played there, grilling hamburgers and hotdogs at family tailgate parties . . . Boy, that brings back memories! Your recent reads all sound good! I am glad you enjoyed The Rose Code. Enjoy your reading and have a great week!

    • Thank you Wendy. Yes! I used to love to go to the mall when the game was on, too. Hope you have a great week of reading too!

  5. I’ve got the Jude Devereaux book on preorder because I couldn’t fit it into my schedule. I loved her other books in that mystery series though. She writes a good cozy.

    Go Rams!
