What I’m up to:
Started watching the Olympics this week! So much fun. We were watching the mixed doubles curling and I enjoyed watching the couples and how they work together.
It’s been cold, so I haven’t been out and about as much as I would like, but it’s supposed to warm up this week, so I’m hoping to get out and do some walking and hiking.

What I watched:
Over the last couple of weeks, I watched every episode of The Office (US version). I had never watched it from start to finish before. I love the humor of the show, and I enjoyed watching the character development over the years.

I never finished watching The Office but really should. I caught up with the last episodes but only watched sporadically once Michael left. Jim and Pam’s story will always be one of my favorite TV romances.

My hubby recently did some snowshoeing with the pup but we don’t get out much in the winter either. Hope your having a great week.

ahh, it’s a shame about the cold weather, but staying in means more reading to me! we’re finally getting some rain in (it’s been a very dry summer so far!), and i really look forward to the colder months.

I’ll be the odd (wo)man out and say that I’m not watching the Olympics in protest over China’s inhumane treatment of whole groups of people, censoring (torture/execution) of those who disagree with the Party, the world-threatening “science” (development and unleashing of the covid virus), and most recently how they are treating Olympic athletes who have gone there to compete. I try not to get political in comments, but the Olympics have become very political, and the Communist Chinese Party’s behavior is egregious. If you want to delete my comment, I will understand. I will still look forward to reading your reviews.
I don’t think you’re the odd person out on not watching the Olympics. I read today that viewership was down 43% from the last Winter Olympics. I did not watch the opening ceremonies for similar reasons. However, I do like to watch some of the sports as these athletes have worked so hard to get there. You’re always welcome to express your views here, Linda.
I agree with you on how hard the athletes have worked. It is the only reason I might even consider watching them. Just the last few days, I have being reading about a female athlete who has been quarantined under changing rules for a long time. She does “skeleton.” I’m not familiar with the sport, but it looks like some type of sled racing. She had to complain on social media to get changes because the food they were feeding her was not good or nutritious. She couldn’t train. The isolation continues even though she has had numerous negative tests. She has one day in which to qualify to compete if they release her at this point. She is not the only one with issues, but hers is the story the media is picking up. She says her experience has been so bad that she probably will not try to compete again. How sad for the athletes.
I love everything in the Olympics. I was actually on a high school curling team which our 4some won the championship my junior year of high school. So I know something about curling and I love it but it isn’t available everywhere. My dad helped to get the rink built in the small town in Iowa where I grew up.

Oh wow! I don’t think I’ve ever known anyone who does curling! Well done! I love that sport because it’s a great balance of physical and mental abilities.
I keep going back and forth on whether I’ll take on If You Ask Me. I’ve seen a lot of mixed reviews where readers are annoyed by Violet.
The Office is a classic! We’ve watched the whole series all the way through like 4 or 5 times. It’s just a series you can pop on and not think too hard on. Perfect for after work when you just want to veg out.
I’ve seen the reviews for If You Ask Me, and I can see why some people were annoyed by Violet. In fact, I was really annoyed by her at first as well! But, I thought she really redeemed herself by the end of the book, and I thought her journey to redemption was inspirational.
I want to watch some of the Olympics but we don’t have regular TV channels so not sure how. Do you schedule your reviews in advance? I haven’t quite mastered that yet.
I hope you find a way to watch some of the Olympics. I schedule my reviews about 4 weeks out. Sometimes I have to move them around or add a last-minute review into the schedule somewhere. I also schedule my Top Ten Tuesday and Can’t Wait Wednesday posts out several weeks ahead of time. The only posts I do in real-time are the Stacking the Shelves and the Sunday Post as they have immediate information in them. I find it lessens my anxiety and I can relax if something comes up for a few days. It works for me, but that doesn’t mean it works for everyone. 🙂

We’ve been watching some of the Winter Olympics too, Wendy! I can’t get over the Luge – they’re mad! The slightest twitch in their body and they careen into the wall. Might watch the freestyle skiing later.
