What I’ve been up to?

This post is for the past 2 weeks as I didn’t do a Sunday Post last week.

Our trip to Montana to take our son to his new home and job was very successful and exhausting! We took 2 full days of driving to get there, stayed one day, and then took 3 days to drive back home. We were very fortunate with the weather and didn’t hit any storms! The roads were clear and dry except for a couple of mountain passes that were just a bit dicey.

I’m so glad we got to see his new home and explore the tiny town he’ll be living in. We also got to make sure his home was set up with almost everything he’ll need.

The town my son is now living in.
The very long road to his little town. The open plains of Montana!

Thanksgiving was quiet at my house. My son is a big eater, so without him, I didn’t need to cook as much food! I got caught up on some reading, and just had a quiet day.

Last two weeks I read:

This is for the past 2 weeks. I didn’t read much on the trip, but made up for it later in the week.

All these books were very good!!

Next week I hope to get to:

What I Watched:

Yellowstone season 5. It appears as if the new season is just as violent and enthralling as the past seasons! The characters are just some of the best on TV (If you can handle all the violence and language!) And I’m loving it!

  1. I’m glad to hear your son is settled in. It looks like a lovely town. 🤗 That was some drive though! 😯

I like quiet holiday meals, but I’m sure you missed your son. Hugs. 😕

  2. Glad you got your son settled at his new home. I hope it proves to be a good move for him. I imagine Thanksgiving was a quiet one. I hear great things about Yellowstone but I have never seen in.

  3. The Golden Oldies Book Club sounds good. I feel like I am living it. One of my book clubs has been going for over 27 years. I am one of the youngest members at age 65. Soon we will age out of a club.

It is both sad and happy launching our children, isn’t it?

  4. I’m glad your Montana trip went well, I love that pic of the long road. Glad you had a nice quiet Thanksgiving. I need to watch Yellowstone.
Enjoy your books this week, The Sisters of Sea View caught my eye.

  5. I have tried twice to watch Yellowstone and just haven’t been able to get into it. I bingewatched Chesapeake Shores over the last month. You read some great books over the last couple of weeks, Wendy. I’m glad you enjoyed your Thanksgiving, even if it was a quiet one.

    • I’m not sure why I like Yellowstone, I don’t like violent shows, but for some reason, I like it. I love Chesapeake Shores, I need to watch it again!

    • It’s very intense. I don’t know why I love it so much as I don’t normally like violence in TV. And Yellowstone has so much VIOLENCE.

Glad you had a good vacation and were able to catch up on your reading after!

  7. Glad you got your son settled and had save travels, Wendy. We’re also watching Yellowstone and loving it! One of the only things I can get hubby to watch. We’re also enjoying the new Stallone series.

  8. Glad to hear you had a safe trip because I would imagine the roads out there at this time of year would be dicey! The only reason I had turkey this year is because I went to a friend’s big gathering. My hubby and I would’ve just had dinner as usual otherwise. A quiet dinner is always welcome! 🙂

Yellowstone looks good! I’ve only watched a few episodes but I do want to do a binge sometime.

  9. Golden Oldies Book Club is probably perfect for me since I am a golden oldie! 🙂 So glad your trip was successful and the weather cooperated – that’s a LONG trip. I’ve seen The Ingenue around the last few weeks – hope you like it!

  10. I’m glad you had a safe trip and have returned. 5 days of driving had to be pretty tiring. Time for resting and reading now! It’s good to see our kids in their new homes. Now you can picture him and what he is doing.

  11. Glad you had a nice Thanksgiving and got your son settled! Sounds like a neat trip.

I might need to try Yellowstone.

  12. Whew! Glad the weather cooperated for your trip and that you got your son settled!

Pets of Park Avenue looks cute! Look at that little doggie!

    • The Stephanie London books are really cute. I think you’d love the first one especially because the dachshund is very cute in the book.

  13. Your son’s new town looks about the size of the town in Iowa where I grew up, or a bit smaller. It’s great you could go and see it plus help him get setup. Thanks for sharing the photos. I have the Spice Master which I’m looking forward to reading.

Anne – Books of My Heart This is my Sunday Post

  14. Glad you had a good trip and let’s hope your son settles in nicely.

I’ve read The Duke and I, but a few on your list today catches my eye. The Golden Oldies Book Club and The Pets of Park Avenue will make it on my list just from the titles and covers.

I hope you will have a good week ahead and happy reading!

  15. What a great reading week you had! I can’t wait to start The Key to My Heart and I’ll be reading The Wedding Ranch this week. Have a wonderful week ahead Wendy!

  16. Janette

Glad you got your son settled in OK. The sheer space and distance between places in the US always astonishes me.
    Have a great reading week
