What I’ve been up to:
It’s been a very quiet week again. I really can’t think of anything I did all week, except my usual chores and reading.
Turkey Drama! Two of our turkeys keep flying out of their yard, then they can’t figure out how to get back in, so they run over to the front of our house and squawk at our front window to let us know they need back in! Then we walk them back to the gate to let them back into their yard. Yesterday they flew out of their yard, and then the neighbor’s dog was loose and chased them up on top of the roof of our house, and they wouldn’t come down until my husband climbed up on the roof and chased them back to the ground. Then they ran back to their yard. I hope they decide that flying out of their yard isn’t a good idea anymore. Maybe they know that Thanksgiving is coming soon and they are ready to make their escape! We don’t eat the turkeys, they are pets. (but they don’t know that!)

I read a lot again this week. As I said above, it’s been a quiet week at home. I enjoyed all these books. No duds this week!

Too funny about the turkey drama. Hopefully things have been a bit calmer in that area this week! I’m loving The Great British Bake-Off though I still miss the original hosts. It sounds like a fun week of reading. We raised two turkeys one year. They did a great job of taking care of the grasshoppers in our garden, but they are not the brightest of God’s creation. Their names were Thanksgiving and Christmas, and fortunately our two children were too young to know what that meant. They also did not witness their transition. 😉 Your turkey story is hilarious.

Omg I just had a laugh at your turkey drama! My daughter has a bunch of wild turkeys all over her town and they gobble by often at her house. The babies are so freaking cute!
Fun fact, my maiden name is Rimmer. I always wonder if I’m somehow related to the author. It’s not a common name. I think are two authors with the last name. I should check into that someday.

That’s funny about the turkeys, but probably annoying for you. Our neighbor’s chickens end up in our yard and the cats love to stalk them, but they aren’t brave enough to do more than that, fortunately.

The turkeys can be troublemakers, but they are mostly fun to watch and are very social animals.

I used to love watching The Great British Baking show! Another great week of reading! I am reading some of the novellas I need to read for my challenges to make me feel productive, LOL! I finished one last night and I think I will finish another this evening 😉 Have a great week!

The turkeys are funny! My dog has done that before. He got out somehow and went to wait by the front door. I didn’t even know it until someone walked by and rang the doorbell for him.

That is a great story about your turkeys! Maybe the funniest thing I’ve heard all week! Although not funny for you guys ha ha having to climb up on the roof! You’re right, maybe they’re nervous about thanksgiving, but sounds like they’re safe with you! 🙂

I’m not sure what TV baking show is in this clip because “the video is not available in my country”. I can never figure this out since much of US TV is broadcast here in Canada. They are not very smart! I think they like to roost on the fence, and then they either fall or jump on the wrong side of the fence and they don’t know how to get back inside!
Loved hearing about your turkeys. It sounds similar to our cat who escapes out of open windows and then demands to be let back in at the door! We’re enjoying baking shows too with The Great British Bake Off. Definitely an autumn/fall tradition. Have a great week.

Godmersham Park was interesting! A bit slow for my taste but I always wonder how I would have lived in that time with so few choices available to women.
I agree, it was so interesting and a good window into that time period. And yes, it was a bit slow.
