What I’ve been up to:

I had another quiet week this week. It was very nice to have a quiet week where I could get a lot of reading, blogging, and the never-ending housework completed.

Last week I read:

I had a good week of reading. All these books were very good, no duds! My favorites were Our Little World and Every Summer After. The Bloomsbury Girls were a close third.

Next week I hope to get to:

What I Watched:

We watched the movie Oh Brother Where Art Thou, starring George Clooney. I think it’s such a great, underappreciated movie. My husband has watched it many times, but this week was the first time I watched it all the way through. It is set in rural Mississippi in 1937 and produced by the Coen brothers. It loosely follows Homer’s great poem, The Oddessy. George Clooney has one of his silliest, and yet profound performances. I love a guy who can make fun of himself, and George Clooney does an excellent job of portraying a very silly character in this movie.

  1. It’s been years since I’ve watched that movie – I’m way past due for a rewatch. Nice to have another quiet week to get caught up. Hubby is out of town this week, so I’m hoping to get a lot done. Have a great week, Wendy!

  4. My brother-in-law loves O Brother Where Art Thou? but I’ve never watched it. It seems like such an odd movie, but I should give it a chance. I’d love to have a quiet week! I want that Rachel Lynn Solomon. I’ll have to request it from the library. Enjoy your books!

  5. I love a good quiet week. And Our Little World looks good. Just that cover puts me in mind of a suspenseful read- I’l have to take a closer look.

  7. I haven’t watched O Brother, although I have wanted to. George Clooney is so versatile. I just got the audiobook for The Dachshund Wears Prada and hope to do a read/listen this week. Enjoy your upcoming week and your upcoming reads, Wendy.

    • Thank you, Jodie. I thought of you while reading Every Summer After as it’s set in Canada and written by a Canadian.

  12. Oh Brother, Where Art Thou? is a classic, so glad you finally got to see it. What a productive week you’ve had!

  13. Greg was commenting that he had a quiet week, also, and I was saying how that was a good thing sometimes. 😊

Oh Brother, Where Art Thou? is a movie my ex and I watched quite a few times. It became one of those movies we would watch every time we stumbled upon it while channel surfing; no matter where it was in the movie. I should watch it. It’s been years. 😌

Have a wonderful new Week. 🌞
