What I’ve been up to:
I had another quiet week this week. It was very nice to have a quiet week where I could get a lot of reading, blogging, and the never-ending housework completed.
Last week I read:
I had a good week of reading. All these books were very good, no duds! My favorites were Our Little World and Every Summer After. The Bloomsbury Girls were a close third.
Next week I hope to get to:
What I Watched:
We watched the movie Oh Brother Where Art Thou, starring George Clooney. I think it’s such a great, underappreciated movie. My husband has watched it many times, but this week was the first time I watched it all the way through. It is set in rural Mississippi in 1937 and produced by the Coen brothers. It loosely follows Homer’s great poem, The Oddessy. George Clooney has one of his silliest, and yet profound performances. I love a guy who can make fun of himself, and George Clooney does an excellent job of portraying a very silly character in this movie.

Both great books, I hope you enjoy them!
Hooray for a quiet week! Gotta love those. 🙂 And a week filled with good reads. I hope this week brings more of the same!
Thank you, Tanya!
It’s been years since I’ve watched that movie – I’m way past due for a rewatch. Nice to have another quiet week to get caught up. Hubby is out of town this week, so I’m hoping to get a lot done. Have a great week, Wendy!

Quiet weeks are the best! Enjoy your upcoming reads! 🙂
I agree, Jolene. I hope you have a great week!
My brother-in-law loves O Brother Where Art Thou? but I’ve never watched it. It seems like such an odd movie, but I should give it a chance. I’d love to have a quiet week! I want that Rachel Lynn Solomon. I’ll have to request it from the library. Enjoy your books!
It’s a very odd movie for sure, but entertaining. Thank you, Rachel!
I’m glad you had a quiet week with good reads. I have a lot of outdoor plans with the better weather this week and hopefully I can mix audiobooks with those plans.

Thank you, Ronyell!
My husband and I are huge fans of O Brother Where Art Thou? It’s such a great movie with awesome music. 🙂
Yes, that music is wonderful.
I love a good quiet week. And Our Little World looks good. Just that cover puts me in mind of a suspenseful read- I’l have to take a closer look.
It’s more of a thriller/mystery and very well done. Have a great week, Greg!
Yay for no duds!! That’s always a great week! I had a busy week so a very slow reading week.
I have a busy week coming up, so I doubt I’ll read much.
There’s definitely something to be said for having a nice , quiet week. Good for you. 🙂
It is nice once in a while!
I haven’t seen that movie, but I made a note to look for it. I think you can call it a good reading week when you like all the books you read!
Thank you, Linda. I really enjoyed every book this week!
I haven’t watched O Brother, although I have wanted to. George Clooney is so versatile. I just got the audiobook for The Dachshund Wears Prada and hope to do a read/listen this week. Enjoy your upcoming week and your upcoming reads, Wendy.
Thank you, Carla. George Clooney is just so goofy in this movie, that it makes it fun to watch.
I just got a copy of The Dachshund Wore Prada and can’t wait to read it! It’s been a long time since I watched that movie. I should try it again. I am ready for summer and more time for lots of reading! Have a great week!

It’s been a while since I watched O Brother, Where Art Thou? I really need to take it out of the library and watch it again.
Looks like you also have plenty of fun books to read!
Thank you! I really did enjoy that movie and can’t believe I haven’t watched it before.
Oh Brother Where Art Thou is such a good movie!
I agree! I will watch it again sometime soon!
A quiet week to read and catch up on housework sounds like heaven! The Dachshund Wears Prada & Starry-Eyed Love sound fantastic, looking forward to your reviews of them
Thank you, Cassie, they were both good books and a lot of fun!
You had a busy reading week Wendy! Every Summer After looks amazing and I look forward to reading your review tomorrow. I hope that you have a wonderful week ahead.
Thank you, Jodie. I thought of you while reading Every Summer After as it’s set in Canada and written by a Canadian.
Oh Brother, Where Art Thou? is a classic, so glad you finally got to see it. What a productive week you’ve had!
Thank you, Rae! It was a good reading week for me!
Greg was commenting that he had a quiet week, also, and I was saying how that was a good thing sometimes. 😊
Oh Brother, Where Art Thou? is a movie my ex and I watched quite a few times. It became one of those movies we would watch every time we stumbled upon it while channel surfing; no matter where it was in the movie. I should watch it. It’s been years. 😌
Have a wonderful new Week. 🌞
It’s such a fun movie! I can see why you watched it so much.
Great reads, hope you have a great week this week 💕
Thank you, Jenny!
I’ve got The Emma Project. Hope you get it too.
I just finished The Emma Project this morning and just loved it. Hope you do too!
