What I’m up to:
I had a quiet week and didn’t read much. I had a colonoscopy mid-week, which is an important cancer screening process. It’s never easy to go through, but not painful, just a bit uncomfortable and the actual procedure is quick and easy. I just felt a bit off the day before and after the procedure. But, I’m always happy to get it over with as I know all is good, and I get a few more years before I have to do it again.
We’re going camping this week, and I always look forward to getting away. We’re going to Payson, AZ to a Forest Service campground. Just Monday through Friday as it tends to get busy and noisy on the weekends.
Last week I read:
I didn’t read much again this week. But they were both GREAT books! They were both 5 Star books.
Next week I hope to get to:
What I watched:
I’ve been enjoying Top Chef – Houston (season 19). My daughter and I were in an episode of Top Chef – Las Vegas, (season 6) years ago, and got to eat some great food. So, I watch it every season.

Have you read any of these books? What are you hoping to read this next week? What have you been up to last week? Comment below!
I hope you had a great week camping, Wendy. The prep for the procedure is the worst part of it, but I agree, it is so important. I am staring Summer at the Cape today. I hope we both enjoy it.
I am glad your colonoscopy went well, Wendy. My mom ended up having two in one week which resulted in her surgery this week—so, yeah, they really are important. I have had a couple. I think the worst part for me is drinking that awful concoction. LOL I hope you enjoy your camping trip! It sounds like fun. I’m so glad you enjoyed Dear Emmie Blue! I loved that one too. I really want to read The No-Show. I hope you enjoy your week and weekend, Wendy.
Thank you. I’m so sorry your mother is having issues. Nobody likes to have a colonoscopy, but they are so important. Dear Emmie Blue was just so good!! I hope you have a great weekend!
I hope your camping has been fun! 🏕
I love the cover for The Patron Saint of Second Chances. 📘
I think we are all in agreement on two things–the colonoscopy prep is the worst and the colonoscopy itself is very important. I’m glad you are all clear for several years. THAT is a great feeling! I think the general malaise the day after is from the drugs, but fortunately they are not as strong as they used to be. Enjoy your reading week.
I love your camping themed header! Also, have fun on your trip!
Thank you! So far it’s a lot of fun.
Have fun camping!!
So glad to hear you enjoyed The No Show! I’m very exited for this one!
Hope you have a great camping trip.
Hope you have a wonderful camping trip, Wendy!
Glad you got the colonoscopy out of the way and an all clear. What fun getting to try the food from Top Chef, I used to watch pretty regularly earlier. Now I can’t seem to make time for much tv. Hope you have a great reading week ahead🙂
Thank you, Mallika! It was fun eating that food. Have a great week!
Oh that’s neat about Top chef! And camping during the offtime (less people) is always fun. Enjoy! 🙂
Thank you, Greg!
I’m glad you got the all clear on your colonoscopy. I lost my Grandpa to colon cancer and I can’t stress the importance of them. I’m so happy you loved Dear Emmie Blue as much as I did! Have a great time camping Wendy!
I’m so very sorry about your Grandpa. And Dear Emmie Blue was amazing!! Thanks for letting me know how great it is. Have a great week, Jodie
Good for you getting your colonoscopy out of the way! Not fun, but so important. I love camping even though I haven’t done it in years. I want to go backpacking sometime soon. We’ve been thinking about it since packing up all our gear lately. Hope you have lots of fun! Should be beautiful this time of year.
I’ll be reading Summer on the Cape and The No-Show soon as well. Glad to hear The No-Show was a hit! 🙂
I’m reading Summer on the Cape right now and really enjoying that too. The last time I backpacked was last November in the Grand Canyon. I think I’m getting too old for backpacking, so I’ll be trailer camping from now on.
I love your blog header btw. I’m glad you had some amazing reads this week. We have been watching Hell’s Kitchen but maybe we should try Top Chef.
Thank you, Anne. I was inspired by your header, which I love!
Have fun camping! I still need to read a Beth O’Leary book!
Thank you, Cindy. I do enjoy Beth O’Leary, I hope you’re able to try one soon.
I’ve been enjoying Top Chef too. Have a great time camping!
Thank you, Tessa! Hope you have a great week too!
We’re colonoscopy buddies. I went through one on Monday. I hope yours went well. The procedure isn’t bad at all; it’s the prep beforehand. I’m glad that’s over, lol. I hope you have a good week. Thanks for stopping by my blog! 🙂
Mine went well, and I’m so glad it’s over. You’re correct, the actual procedure was just like taking a nap. :). And I felt great for the rest of the day. I hope you have a great week!
I loved Eleanor Oliphant when I read it. I hope you do too. She is a brilliant character.
Thank you, Janette. I’m about halfway through and I’m loving it!
I love camping if there are no kids involved, lol. When you used to do primitive campsites with a large tent, the kids made me anxious. Now we are empty-nesters so we should try again.
I love the cover of Summer at the Cape. Would put me in the mood for beaches and pools!
obviously I meant to say “when we used to do”. above… you wouldn’t have wanted to do it with my kids, ha.
I love camping but I don’t blame ya’ll for not staying the weekend. Camping shouldn’t be crowded lol
It’s one of the best things about being retired! I get to camp when nobody else is at the campground. Hope you have a great week, Carrie!
I’ve read the No Show and found it an ok read. Hope you love it.
I can see why you didn’t love it. At times I just wanted to stop reading, but I did love the way everything was tied up in the end.
I love the look of your reads this week 😊 hope you have a lovely time camping 💕
Thank you, Jenny. I hope you have a great week!
