sunday post

The Sunday Post is a weekly meme hosted at the @ Caffeinated Reviewer. It’s a chance to share news~ A post to recap the past week on your blog and showcase books and things we have received. Share news about what is coming up on our blog for the week ahead. See rules here: Sunday Post Meme

What I’m up to:

We had a terrific time in California! The weather was in the mid to high 70s every day and no rain. We walked on the beach, ate great food, and mostly just hung out with family. It was so nice to be out in short sleeves and shorts!

Crystal Cove Beach

Fashion Island in Newport Beach
Back Home in Flagstaff, view from the nearby trailhead.

Last week I read:

I didn’t post a Stacking the Shelves post yesterday because I didn’t acquire any new books. I’ve been restraining myself as I have too many already, and I’m hoping to do some traveling soon.

I only read one book this week. Lost and Found in Paris was excellent.

Publication Date is April 5, 2022

Next week I hope to get to:

What I watched:

We watched The Adam Project on Netflix, starring Ryan Reynolds and it was a lot of fun.

We also watched Servant of the People on Netflix. It’s the Ukrainian President, Volodymyr Zelenskyy, before he was president, starring as an everyday teacher who suddenly becomes president. It was very funny, but also sad as it’s set in Kyiv, and everyone looks so happy back then and the city was so beautiful.

I did enjoy Volodymyr Zelenskyy’s performance as he has excellent facial expressions and he’s very funny! I could only watch the first couple of episodes as it has subtitles, and it’s tiring for me to watch. It’s just so hard to believe that this carefree comedian is now fighting for the life of his country. So very sad.

  1. I love your pictures, Wendy. So glad you had a good time in the sun. I keep saying I’m not going to request any books, but always break. I know the week is almost over, so I hope you enjoy your weekend.

  2. Beautiful California pictures – and what a beautiful picture from the trailhead! I enjoyed the last Lian Dolan book I read so I’m glad to see you enjoyed this one. It has been on my TBR since I saw the first mention. Have a wonderful week!

  3. I’m glad you had a good time. Beaches are wonderful places to visit. Did you see any starfish? I think they’re just about my favourite animal in that habitat.

    • No starfish, Lydia. :(. I didn’t see much besides sand and algae on the beach. But, the sunshine sure was nice.

  4. Happy to hear your trip went well – sounds like you had a fab time. Those pics of the beach are beautiful! It’s my happy place. Have a great week, Wendy!

  5. I’m glad you had a great time in California! I haven’t read any of these books yet but look forward to reading your reviews. I also watched The Adam Project – Ryan Reynolds is a hometown boy! I hope this next week is a great one for you.

  6. Those pictures! You know you call to my heart with those beach photos 😍. And your mountains are always gorgeous. We enjoyed The Adam Project too. I love Ryan Reynold’s humor. Have a great week!

    • Thank you, Tessa. I feel so lucky that my sisters live close to the beach and I can visit. But, I do love living in the mountains. Ryan Reynolds doesn’t seem to take himself too seriously and that allows him to be very funny.

  7. Beautiful pictures of California and Arizona! This is a nice time of year for both places. It is so sad about Ukraine! I didn’t know the president was in a documentary. Poor guy, poor people!

  8. Janette

How lovely to be in California. The beach looks absolutely gorgeous. I’m impressed by the will power to only acquire one new book too! Have a great week.

  10. Oh, how wonderful that you had a chance to go to California and go to the beach and enjoy the lovely weather. I love California and I adore the beach. The beach is one of my favorite places. I love swimming in the ocean. 🙂
