What I’m Up To:

We had a week of the flu. Both my husband and I were sick, but it was only the 24hr stomach flu, so we’re grateful it wasn’t COVID. My daughter didn’t get sick, but she’s been spraying the house with Lysol and wiping every surface with the Clorox wipes. She’s determined not to get it! Other than that, it was a quiet week.

Next Week?

I should be backpacking Tuesday – Friday at the Grand Canyon. But, not sure if we’ll go or not because we’ve been sick. If we go, we’ll be hiking 20 miles over 4 days going to the bottom of the canyon, and then back up. (“only” five miles a day) I will be out of cell range the entire trip and after that, I suspect I’ll be sore and sleeping for many days!

Last week I read:

I had a good week of reading. All the books this week were very enjoyable. My favorites were Just Haven’t Met You Yet, and On a Night Like This.

Next week I hope to get to:

Happy Halloween!:

One of my favorite Saturday Night Live skits is David S. Pumpkins with Tom Hanks. It’s so stupid, it’s funny.

Enjoy!

  1. Oh, I’m sorry to hear you were sick! At least it wasn’t covid. I got a sinus/ear infection and I had to go to an urgent care here in Oregon while we’re on vacation, so that’s sucked. Getting better with antibiotics now. Hope you feel well enough to do your backpacking trip! That sounds like an excellent backpacking route! It’s been a long time since I’ve been backpacking, but I love it. You get to see sights and scenery you wouldn’t otherwise. I still hike quite a bit now. I look forward to your photos if you go, Wendy!

  2. I’m so sorry you had the flu. I hope you and your spouse feel better soon.

Have you decided if you’ll go on that hiking trip yet? My uncle and brothers have hiked through the Grand Canyon many times!

  3. Glad you didn’t have Covid! And your hiking expedition sounds fun. I haven’t been to the grand Canyon but one of these years…

    Have a great trip!

  4. Your daughter is my kind of girl. At work, the woman I share an office with was getting over something last week and her whole family was very ill. So, I promptly used hand sanitizer on my way out to my car to go home. I think I’m more cognizant of the normal crud spread than Covid since the normal crud has no vaccination to prevent or lessen 😳

  5. Sorry you got the flu! That’s never any fun. Hope you’re feeling well enough to go on your backpacking trip…and that you have a wonderful time!

  6. I’m so sorry you all have had the flu! Glad you are feeling better. All the books you read last week look good 🙂 I hope you get to go to the Grand Canyon, that sounds so fun!
