Stacking the Shelves #78!

Stacking The Shelves is a meme hosted by Tynga’s Reviews and ReadingReality all about sharing the books you are adding to your shelves, may it be physical or virtual. This means you can include books you buy in physical store or online, books you borrow from friends or the library, review books, gifts, and of course ebooks! And audiobooks. Don’t forget audiobooks!

NetGalley Lists: I saw the new feature at NetGalley where you can make lists. I have made 2 lists:
1. Books I want to request when my ratio gets better
2. Wishes (this way I can find out how many wishes I have pending and how many get granted vs not granted)

Does anyone have any other ideas for lists on NetGalley?

I only have one NetGalley ARC and one Library Book this week!

NetGalley:

Publication Date: May 23, 2023

I wanted a bookish book.

Synopsis: A grumpy single dad and a small-town bookseller find love again in this charming contemporary romance in Sarah Robinson’s Heart Lake series.

As chaotic as it can be, Rosie Dean loves her unruly life. But between raising twins alone, running her struggling bookshop, and secretly writing a parenting advice column, the single mom can’t think about dating. At least that’s what she tells herself . . . until her high school crush (and his incredible blue eyes) return to Heart Lake for the summer. Even though Evan has grown into a huge grump, he’s still a super sexy one, and soon sparks begin to fly.

Single dad and widower Evan Mills is used to hearing he’s too serious. But with a grieving tween daughter to raise on his own, the graphic designer is just trying to stay strong for her. He hopes a few weeks at the lake will be the fresh start they both need. Evan never anticipated reconnecting with Rosie, or that she could make him feel whole again—if he’d give her the chance. Will one steamy summer with Rosie be long enough to melt Evan’s heart?

Includes the bonus novella, Annie Rains’ Kiss Me in Sweetwater Springs!

Library Haul:

Publication Date: November 14, 2022

I’ve heard this is an excellent book. Jodie @ ThatHappyReader.ca highly recommends it!

Synopsis: A Good Morning America Book Buzz Pick!
Their love was supposed to last forever. But when life delivered blow after devastating blow, Yasmen and Josiah Wade found that love alone couldn’t solve or save everything.

It couldn’t save their marriage.

Yasmen wasn’t prepared for how her life fell apart, but she’s is finally starting to find joy again. She and Josiah have found a new rhythm, co-parenting their two kids and running a thriving business together. Yet like magnets, they’re always drawn back to each other, and now they’re beginning to wonder if they’re truly ready to let go of everything they once had.

Soon, one stolen kiss leads to another…and then more. It’s hot. It’s illicit. It’s all good—until old wounds reopen. Is it too late for them to find forever? Or could they even be better, the second time around?

Purchased (audible credit): None!

That’s all I have for this week. Have you read any of these books? What’s on your list to read? Comment below!

  1. Wow, good restraint this week, Wendy. I want to make lists based on publishers, but it will take a while. How do you know what books you wished for or will you just do that moving forward? Enjoy your new additions.

  2. Rachel @Waves of Fiction

I will check out those features on Netgalley! Thanks for sharing that. I hope you enjoy both books!

  3. Little Bookstore sounds charming. And lists are always helpful to me. From the beginning I’ve kept a netgalley Excel list on my computer with everything I requested (and was denied!), which ones I rec’d and read and which requests are still pending. I find it super helpful. I’m seriously trying to cut back on my netgalley requests so haven’t been to the site in a while and didn’t know about the lists – hope it helps!

    • Thank you, Terrie. I was wondering how best to use the lists, but I’m not sure they are really helpful to me yet. We’ll see.

  4. I haven’t been on Net Galley in a little bit and didn’t know they now had lists. I will look into it. I love the cover for The Little Bookstore on Heart Lake Lane. I hope you enjoy both of these.

  5. I didn’t know Netgalley had lists. Thanks for the heads up. I don’t know how I would use them as I just request the things I want and fit them in my schedule.

  6. I love the cover on the bookish book. I haven’t decided how I want to use the lists yet. I don’t want it to be something else to do, so I want to give some thought to how it can best help me.

  7. That’s a very restrained book haul for this week and should definitely help you improve your NG review ratio. I can’t see me using the lists feature. I do love making lists but I think that I’ll just carry making my own on my ipad as I can include all of my books and not just my NG ones.
