Can’t Wait Wednesday is a weekly meme hosted by Wishful Endings, to spotlight and discuss the books we’re excited about that we have yet to read. Generally, they’re books that have yet to be released. It’s based on Waiting on Wednesday, hosted by Jill at Breaking the Spine.
When a woman alone in the world bravely chooses to open her heart, two lost soulshave a new chance at belonging, in this intimate novel from #1 New York Times bestselling author Debbie Macomber.
A new beginning in charming Oceanside, Washington, is exactly what Hope Godwin needs after the death of her twin brother. There are plenty of distractions, like her cozy cottage with the slightly nosy landlords next door, and a brewing drama among her students at the local high school.
Despite having settled quickly into the community, something is still missing for Hope. That is, until her landlord convinces her to volunteer at his animal shelter. There she meets Shadow, a rescue dog that everyone has given up on. But true to her name, Hope believes he’s worth saving.
Like Shadow, shelter volunteer Cade Lincoln Jr., is suffering with injuries most can’t see. A wounded ex-marine, Cade identifies with Shadow, assuming they are both beyond help. Hope senses that what they each need is someone to believe in them, and she has a lot of love to give. As she gains Shadow’s trust, Hope notices Cade begins to open up as well. Finding the courage to be vulnerable again, Cade and Hope take steps toward a relationship, and Hope finally begins to feel at peace in her new home.
But Hope’s new happiness is put to the test when Cade’s past conflicts resurface, and Hope becomes embroiled in the escalating situation at the high school. Love and compassion are supposed to heal all wounds. But are they enough to help Hope and Cade overcome the pain of their past and the obstacles in the way of a better future?
Why I Can’t Wait!
Debbie is one of my favorite authors, and I’ve enjoyed every book that I’ve read from her.

I hope you love it! ❤
Great choice, Wendy. I am also waiting for this one. I love her books as well.
I hope we both love it!
I’ve loved her Christmas entries. I need to branch out and read some of her other settings, too.
Her more mainstream books are a bit heavier and more emotional than her Christmas books, but still have her heartwarming style.
I have requested this one; Debbie Macomber can be counted on.
She sure can, Linda!
Beautiful cover. I have not read one of hers in ages!
She hasn’t changed much!
For some reason, when I think of Debbie Macomber, I think she’s the author my friend told me about that always kills off her main character with some sort of mysterious illness. Lol. I’m probably getting her mixed up with someone else (not Nicholas Sparks, lol).
Debbie Macomber does sweet, clean romances. I haven’t read all her books, but I haven’t read one where she kills off the main character yet. 🙂
Sounds lovely and there’s a dog! Hope you enjoy it. It’s Better This Way by her also got listed on Netgalley today.
I do love books with dogs in them
Sounds really good.
Thank you, Cathy!
I too can’t wait for this one Wendy! I know we will both love it!🌻📚❤
She’s so good that I can COUNT on her to write a book I will enjoy every single time.
With that cover and synopsis, it sounds like a must read! Her books are so enjoyable!
Thank you, Patricia! She’s consistently good, so I’m fairly confident I’ll enjoy this
I hope you enjoy this one when you get to it! It’s been a long time since I read this author.
Debbie Macomber is fairly consistant, so I’m sure it’ll be good.
This does sound like a good read. Possibly, very powerful. Excellent choice ❤️
Thank you, Tessa!
This sounds lovely, I hope you enjoy it when you get to read 💕
Thank you, Jenny!
