"One of the year's most delightful rom-coms."—New York Times bestselling author Julia London on The Dachshund Wears Prada
The perfect romcom for dog lovers! Pets of Park Avenue is the story of a self-confessed hot mess who learns that life is more fun when things don't go according to plan.
What do you do when The One is also the one who broke your heart?
Self-proclaimed hot mess Scout Myers is determined to prove she’s finally got her act together. Raised by grandparents who saw her as her wayward mother’s wayward daughter, Scout’s used to being written off. So when the opportunity for a promotion arises at Paws in the City, the talent agency where she works, Scout is desperate to rise to the occasion. With shared custody of her little sister also on the line, Scout can’t afford a single mistake…like suddenly needing a canine stand-in for an important photoshoot. Luckily (or not) she knows the owner of the perfect pup replacement: the estranged husband she walked out on years ago.
On the surface, it appears Lane Halliday’s life has been blissfully drama free without Scout, but she suspects her handsome-as-ever not-quite-ex-husband doth protest too much. Working together even feels like old times—except for all that lingering, unresolved tension. But Scout’s not sure she’s ready to confront the reasons she left Lane, and when their plans to finalize the divorce become very real, Scout starts to wonder whether second chances might be worth a little hot mess.
Paws in the City
Book 1 - The Dachshund Wears Prada
Pets of Park Avenue by Stefanie London is the second book in her Paws in the City series that features both pets, and New York City. This can be read as a stand-alone.
Scout Myers is a self-proclaimed hot mess and works for her best friend at a pet-influencing company. When Scout messes up a photo shoot of a Bichon Frise, the only way to get out of the mess is to borrow her husband’s dog, an exact doppelganger for the dog she accidentally dyed pink. The only problem? She hasn’t talked to her husband in over five years after she walked out on him.
I enjoyed this second-chance romance very much. The fact that Scout and her husband were still married, but hadn’t talked to each other in five years was a bit of a stretch for me, but I just went with it and I’m so glad I did! I found their emotional reunion very powerful and loved watching them fall in love again.
Scout is a very relatable character, and I just wanted her to succeed so much. She claims she’s a hot mess, but she is very intuitive and great with people. She’s very conscientious and hardworking and I love that in a heroine. Lane, her husband, is adorable and I love the way he cares for his family, and still has strong feelings for Scout. Any man who loves an adorable Bichon Frise is a good man.
I also enjoyed seeing the characters from the last book again. And I love the New York City setting. I loved the dog aptly named Twinkle Stardust, who had a big part in trying to get her “parents” back together.
I highly recommend Pets of Park Avenue to anyone who enjoys romance. I received a complimentary copy of this book. The opinions expressed in this review are completely my own.

Love that the dog plays an important role in the story🐶❤ Lovely review, Wendy🙂🙂
I’m not much of a dog-person, but the little doggie on the cover is adorable!
This sounds fun! And merry Christmas to you!!!
I love second chance romance novels and this one sounds like one I would enjoy. Thank you for your great review, Wendy.
Great review! You have me wanting to give this book/series a try. It sounds great. Happy holidays!
This sounds so cute, great review! I love the cover and second chance romance too.
This sounds cute and the dog with the name Twinkle Stardust has me laughing. I agree not talking for 5 years while still being married seems a bit odd but I’ve known enough separated/divorcing people that do crazy things so I guess it’s possible.
Wonderful review, Wendy. I also loved this one, and especially loved Twinkle Stardust.
Ok, this looks sweet and I love their business.
Second-chance romances are always a fun read. I’m glad you enjoyed this one.
I’m not much of a dog-person, but I do love second-chance romance! Sounds like a good read!
I love that cover! 😀
Great review, Wendy! Yes, 5 years without talking, but still married, does seem a stretch. I love the cover though!
Normally I’d shy away from a book with such a situation at the beginning, but you make me curious to learn more about Scout and see her and Lane patch it up.
This sounds like such a cute read!
We love this cover and that the book features dogs!
Great review Wendy! I absolutely adore this cover. I love that it also takes place in NYC! Thanks for sharing. Wishing you and your family a very Merry Christmas & Happy Holidays!
I was attracted by the cover, but didn’t receive it as an ARC. It sounds good enough to put on my
Of course I bought the first book when it came out, because it had a dachshund, but I haven’t read it yet. I need to do that, and then I’ll probably want to read this too as I love second chance romance. Great review!
