The first novel in a new series from #1 New York Times bestselling author Lora Leigh—you've met the Mackays; now it's time to meet their friends.
Danger is stalking Isabeau Boudreaux. After the deaths of her parents ten years ago during a violent attack that left her blind, remnants of her vision are returning. But a series of accidents has convinced her friends the Mackays of Somerset, Kentucky, that someone wants her dead. When a roadside blowout proves to be almost fatal for Isabeau and her good friend Angel, Angel’s brother mercenary Tracker Calloway knows this was no accident.
After a particularly bloody job, the last thing Tracker wants to do is get involved. But whoever is after Isabeau almost hurt his sister, and Isabeau is the most beautiful woman he’s ever seen. Tracker is determined to protect her but knows staying away from Isabeau is impossible. He begins a steady seduction to tempt the innocent woman into a world of hunger like she could have never imagined. And keeping her is the only option—if he can save her from an unknown enemy as her sight begins to slowly return.
In Isabeau’s Eyes by Lora Leigh is the first book in her new series, Kentucky Nights. This spicy, emotional story took me on a roller coaster of emotions.
Story Recap:
Isabeau Boudreaux lost her parents in a violent attack ten years ago that also left her blind. Now, after a series of accidents her friends, the Mackays of Somerset, Kentucky, believe Isabeau is in danger. Her best friend, Angel and Angel’s brother, Tracker Calloway, know she’s in danger and they work to keep her safe.
Mercenary Tracker Calloway is reluctant to get involved until he realizes his sister is also in danger. He’s immediately attracted to the very beautiful Isabeau, but he’s done with relationships and doesn’t want to lead Isabeau on. But, as Tracker helps Isabeau escape danger, they begin to fall in love.
My Thoughts:
I enjoyed this steamy, sexy, emotional story. It was a bit steamier than I’m used to, but the story was good, and I grew to love both Isabeau and Tracker. I appreciated the way the author handled Isabeau’s blindness, and I thought she handled it with empathy. It’s always nice to see issues like this highlighted in books.
I thought there were a lot of characters in this story that made it a bit confusing at the start. But eventually, I figured everyone out and was able to enjoy the story. Although this is the first book in the series, it’s a continuation of another popular series the author wrote, so if you’ve been reading the author’s other series, you’ll fit right into this one more easily than I did.
Recommendation:
I recommend In Isabeau’s Eyes to anyone who enjoys romance. I received a complimentary copy of this book. The opinions expressed in this review are completely my own.

Yes, this was a little spicier than I usually read! I felt like I would’ve enjoyed it a little more had I read the previous series, but I had fun and zipped right through it. I’m looking forward to the next book.
Haven’t read this author before, but have seen her name around I think. Glad you enjoyed it! Great review!
I’ve seen this book mentioned by other bloggers as well. I like your review, the book sounds interesting. I’m gonna take a closer look.
I also got the email for eARC but as I see this is spin-off and I didn’t read the previous series I let it go. And looks li was right, this can be enjoyed more if one has read the previous series. Great review!
This sounds good and I like the way it sounds like the author handled things. Great review Wendy!
Great review! It’s been so long since I’ve read anything by her! I’ll have to keep an eye out for this one.
Good review, Wendy! Sounds like the author handled the character’s blindness well.
I want this one. Thanks for the recommendation.
I do find it hard when there are lots of characters at the start, great review 😊
Great review! I am always curious about books set in Kentucky since that is where I live lol.
Wonderful review, Wendy. The story sounds great, but it might be a bit too steamy for me.
Oh my goodness, this one sounds a bit too dark for me – I think I’d want to cover my eyes through more of it than actually read what happens haha. But I’m glad you enjoyed it! I liked reading your review 🙂
Glad you enjoyed this one Wendy 🙂 Great review.
Excellent review Wendy!📚🤗💜
I’m glad that you enjoyed this one. Wonderful review once again Wendy.
Ooooh I love a romance that is steamy! But what I love more is that it seems that the author handled Isabel’s blindness with empathy. So great!
