New York Times and USA Today bestseller Roni Loren brings the heat in this complex story of:

  • A woman battling her anxiety
  • A man who seems too good to be true
  • A sizzling connection built over sweltering New Orleans nights
  • And an emotional climax that'll have them both baring it all

Everyone knows Miz Poppy, the vibrant reviewer whose commentary brightens the New Orleans nightlife. But no one knows Hollyn Tate, the real face behind the media star...or the anxiety that keeps her isolated. All her life, Hollyn's tried to hide her true self behind an online façade, but when her boss tells her she needs to reveal the truth to the world or lose her job, she's forced to rely on an unexpected source to help face her fears.

Enter Jasper Deares: actor, improve star, and way, way out of her league.

Hollyn thinks Jasper must be joking when he offers private lessons to help overcome her fears. Getting up on a stage? Hello, worst nightmare. But Jasper's infectious charm has her saying yes despite herself. They're only supposed to be playing a few improv games, but as the lessons run longer and the lines grow blurrier, Hollyn can't help but wonder if she's acting at all...or if a relationship with Jasper might help give her the confidence she needs to say yes to every imperfect part of herself.

My Review:

Yes & I Love You by Roni Loren is the first book in her Say Everything series.  It’s a steamy, fun, and romantic story that I just adored.  First, when I say steamy, it’s pretty steamy, but the dialogue and the story make this a fun book.

Quiet and shy Hollyn has an alter ego as Miz Poppy a New Orleans reviewer of nightlife who has a large and faithful following.  Hollyn also has Tourette’s Syndrome which keeps her hidden behind her blog, and her writing.  But, when her boss suddenly wants her to start doing video blogs, she panics as she doesn’t want anyone to discover her Tourette’s Syndrome.

Aspiring actor Jasper Deares, has had a tough upbringing and uses acting and comedy as an outlet for his frustrations.  When he realizes the quiet woman who comes into his coffee shop every day is the Miz Poppy of the blogosphere, he knows he must get her to review him so he can gain more media attention.  But, Hollyn doesn’t want anything to do with him.

This is a fun book, I loved Hollyn and Jasper and was rooting for them both throughout the book.  I said it before and will say it again, it’s a steamy book.  But the dialogue and the banter between Hollyn and Jasper is so much fun.  But, this book isn’t all light banter and steamy scenes, it’s also very emotional.  Both Jasper and Hollyn have issues from their pasts that they must confront and overcome.  The pacing of this book was perfect.  I was pulled into the story immediately and it was over before I knew it.

I recommend this book to anyone who loves an emotional, steamy romance.

  1. I love Roni Loren’s writing! I started reading her when she was publishing erotica, and she does write steamy stuff! I read the second book in this series, What If You & Me and I loved it! I need to go back and read this one, too. Glad that you enjoyed it.

  2. I had an ARC of this but the format was wonky and I couldn’t enlarge the text so I had to abandon it. But what I had read was good. Great review and a nice reminder for me to buy it to finish it.

  3. How many times can you say steamy, LOL. Seriously, it’s great that you put that in the review. So many people complain about books because stuff they didn’t expect was in it. I hope you have a great day!
