Top Ten Tuesday was created by The Broke and the Bookish and is now hosted by That Artsy Reader Girl. It was born of a love of lists, a love of books, and a desire to bring bookish friends together. Each week a new theme is suggested for bloggers to participate in. Create your own Top Ten list that fits that topic – putting your unique spin on it if you want. Everyone is welcome to join but please link back to The Artsy Reader Girl in your own Top Ten Tuesday post.

Today’s Top 10: Authors I Haven’t Read, But Want To

1. Alice Hoffman. I loved the Practical Magic movie, but haven’t read any of her books. I have Magic Lesson on audible and am just waiting to get to it.

2. Lisa Jewel. I don’t read thrillers very often, but I’ve heard so many great things about Lisa Jewel that I would like to read one of her books soon.

3. Jo Jo Moyes. I can’t believe I’ve never read anything by Jo Jo Moyes as her books seem like just the kind of books I would enjoy.

4. Viola Shipman. aka Wade Rouse. I just know I’ll love his books.

5. Freya Sampson. I have read so many awesome reviews for her books, and I can’t believe I haven’t read one of her books yet.

6. Sally Rooney. I have seen some great reviews for her books, and I like that she has complex characters in her books.

7. Jen Turano. Jen Turanao is known for writing ight, inspirational, and humorous, historical fiction.

8. Jessie Q. Sutanto. I’ve seen many reviews for the Jessie Q. Sutanto’s Aunties series and I’m pretty sure they are the kind of fun books I would enjoy!

9. Karin Slaughter. I don’t read much in the thriller/myster genre, but I’d like to read more. I’ve seen many reviews for her books, and most people seem to enjoy her books.

10. Michelle Major. I have her next book, Wedding Season, but haven’t read it yet. I also want to read her The Magnolia Sisters series.

  1. I have read Jojo Moyes and Alice Hoffman but not the rest. I have been wanting to read at least half of the others for a while now, and added the others today 🙂
    My TTT is here

  2. I should have put Viola Shipman on my list! I’ve read one book by Alice Hoffman and liked it but haven’t read more by her yet. I’ve read several by Lisa Jewell and enjoy them. They’re fantastic on audio. There are several authors you mentioned that I don’t know much about so I need to go look up their books!

  3. Oooh, great list! I’ve read all the Practical Magic books except for Magic Lessons, but I adored them! I recommend reading them in the fall. 😉 I’ve read a few of Jewell’s books and enjoyed them as well. Very atmospheric. I’ve only read Normal People by Rooney, and while I enjoyed the adaptation more than the book, I still want to read her latest, as well. Her books really make me think, and sometimes that’s what’s more important. I hope you get to some of these soon!

  4. I’ll join you with your list as I have never read any of these authors, but their works sound good. Jojo Moyes is one that keeps popping up on my radar.

  5. I like both Alice Hoffman and Jen Turano. And The Last Chance Library is one I’m eager to read, too. Great TTT list. 🙂

  6. Okay so I had no idea Viola Shipman was a pen name, but I think that book is set in Traverse City MI or the area which is a favorite area of mine, so that caught my attention!

  7. Great list! 🙂 I’ve heard of quite a few of these. The only author I’ve read, though, is Lisa Jewell. I read The Family Upstairs. It was very interesting. I hope you enjoy these authors when you do get a chance to read them. 🙂 Thanks for stopping by my blog.

  8. The Giver of the Stars and The Last Chance Library are two on my TBR list as well. I hope we both enjoy them when/if we get to them 😉

  9. Janette

I hope you get to read some of these soon. I really like Lisa Jewell and you will definitely love Jojo Moyes and Freya Sampson

  10. Good picks! I’ve only read Alice Hoffman and Karin Slaughter. Hoffman writes magical realism and I’ve been reading her since her first book, but stopped a few years ago and don’t know why. Highly recommended.
I would also recommend Karin Slaughter too as a wonderful author I’ve been reading for so many years– but, be forewarned, she is very graphic in her violence, and the later books and stand-alones even more so. That being said, I loved her earlier ones- the Grant County series.

  11. Great choices, Wendy. I have read 8 of these authors and 6 of them are among my favourites. I hope you enjoy their books when you get to them.

  12. I really love Lisa Jewell. I started reading her 20+ years ago when she was writing chick lit and have stayed with her all these year as she morphed into mystery/suspense. She tells a great story!

  13. Jenny+McClinton

I have only read Lisa jewell out of this list so far & I enjoy her books 😊 I keep meaning to read a book by karin slaughter too 💕

  14. Yes yes yes!! You really need to read Viola Shipman I love his stories but make sure you have tissues! Michelle Major is fantastic as well!📚🤗☕💜
