Top Ten Tuesday was created by The Broke and the Bookish and is now hosted by That Artsy Reader Girl. It was born of a love of lists, a love of books, and a desire to bring bookish friends together. Each week a new theme is suggested for bloggers to participate in. Create your own Top Ten list that fits that topic – putting your unique spin on it if you want. Everyone is welcome to join but please link back to The Artsy Reader Girl in your own Top Ten Tuesday post.
Today’s Top 10: Titles or Covers That Made Want to Read/Buy the Book
At first, this topic just overwhelmed me. There are so many books! How could I choose just 10? So, I decided to concentrate on only books published this year.
#1. The Ballerinas by Rapelke-Dale. I love Ballerinas, and these are so pretty.
#2. The Summer Cottage by Annie Rains. A dog, a hammock, and a lake! I want to go here and just relax.
#3. Calder Brand by Janet Daily. I love the mountains, and they are so magnificent.
#4. The Summer Sisters by Sara Richardson. So pretty, and it has a vintage camper!
#5. It’s Better This Way by Debbie Macomber. I just want to sit at the table with my family and friends and have a feast!
#6. The Paris Apartment by Kelly Bowen. I love the Eiffel Tower in the background. I could sit here all day and look at this view.
#7. Devil in Disguise by Lisa Kleypas. This is one of the prettiest dresses on a cover I’ve ever seen.
#8. The Twelve Days of Snowball. A white kitten and Christmas decorations! So cute. I love animals on covers.
#9. The Most Beautiful Girl in Cuba. That dress AND that view! I just love this cover.
#10. Falling in Love on Willow Creek by Debbie Mason. A rowboat, a picnic, a lake, and a dog, that’s all I need to be happy.
Have you read any of these books? Have you ever purchased a book solely on the cover? Comment below!
Heck, that is a big topic! Technically most books I own or want are down to the titles or covers, really. It’s your first impression and if it doesn’t grab you, often times you’re not gonna take a look. The exceptions being recommendations and a certain theme you’re looking for, I suppose. But hmm.. I suppose there are books that I’ve bought or wanted solely because the cover was so pretty that it MUST be something I’ll love.
Thank you Hannah, great points. I think most of us are visual people, and most covers convey what the book is about, so it all makes sense that we are tempted by covers. If I were an author I would be stressed out thinking of a cover for the book!
Great selection of covers! I love Chanel Cleeton’s covers in general.
Thank you Yvonne!
These are all very different from one another, yet all very eye catching. Great list Wendy.
Thank you Carla!
We have such similar taste in books that I’m not surprised we love many of the same covers! I love these Top !0 lists!
Thank you Jodie! I love looking at all the covers too!

The Twelve Days of Snowball sounds adorable.

Great list! I love animals on book covers, too.

Thanks! I’ve only read about half of them myself.
