Where’s Wendy?

We made it to Canada! And we conveniently arrived on July 1, which was Canada Day!

Last week we stayed for several nights in a small campground near Helena, Montana. It was beautiful and we watched all the waterskiing and fishermen going out and about on the lake.

After we arrived in Canada, we stayed in a small provincial park near Lethbridge Alberta that was full of families celebrating the holiday weekend.

As you’re reading this, we’re driving to Banff National Park, up in the Canadian Rocky Mountains, where we’ll stay for 6 nights.

Last week I read:

I can’t pick a favorite book this week. I was expecting The Bodyguard and The Best is Yet to Come to be excellent and they both were excellent! Any Other Family was a surprise hit for me as I haven’t read the author before, and I really enjoyed this family drama about adoption.

Next week I hope to get to:

What I watched:

We’ve been streaming The Crown on Netflix. I’ve watched all the seasons before, but my husband hadn’t seen it before. And I’m loving watching it all again, it’s just so well done. And I might as well catch up for Season 5 that comes out in November.

  1. I hope you are having a wonderful time in Canada, Wendy. We were supposed to spend a week in Utah this coming week with family and see the sights, but our plans have fallen through. I am glad you are enjoying your reading! I have had such a hard time sticking to a book. I just can’t focus on much of anything. My family and I are enjoying the new season of Stranger Things though. I hope you have a great weekend!

  2. Any Other Family sounds wonderful! 📚

The lake and mountain photos are stunning! I especially love the Hauser Lake photo. 🏞

Enjoy the rest of your trip! 🏕

  3. I absolutely love Banff and been there three different times. Enjoy the Canadian Rockies, Wendy. I loved The Bodyguard and am glad to see you did as well. I am listening to The Littlest Library this week. It will be interesting to see if my listening and your reading result in the same feelings. Have a great time!

    • It’s so beautiful here in Banff. We had a lot of rain and clouds the first 2 days, but now it’s cleared and I can see the mountains, and it’s breathtaking.

  4. Beautiful pics, Wendy! I’m a fan of The Crown and always binge the new season. Wish I could get hubby to watch with me, but he has no interest. Enjoy Canada!

    • My husband didn’t have any interest at all, either. But when I was watching it in the little trailer, he got hooked and now he wants to watch it more than I do.

  5. We were just in Deer Lodge, Montana this last week (got home yesterday) which isn’t far from Helena. We land there sometimes to get to where we stay: Rock Creek Cattle Company/Lodge/Golf Resort. My SIN got a membership there 3 years ago and we’ve been visiting ever since. Such a pretty area! I also love Heartland which is filmed Alberta and has a similar looking landscape. Your vacation sounds lovely! Love you pics! Enjoy your time away, Wendy! I look forward to more pictures!

    • I did not know Heartland was filmed in Alberta! I’ll have to watch it, as I’ve been meaning to watch it for a while now. How wonderful that you get to go to Montana every year! It’s a gorgeous state and I just loved the scenery

  6. Such beautiful photos. What lovely places you are staying and with 6 days you really get to enjoy the area. When we traveled for 3 weeks across Canada, we stayed 1-4 days at places and were mostly at youth hostels. We really had a great time.

  7. Such beautiful scenery and the lake is so idyllic. Sounds like you are having a wonderful time exploring so many different areas.

  8. Ahhh I love your travel photos so much and I want to go on vacation tooooooooooooooooo

I didn’t know we get a 5th season of The Crown! Woo hoo!! That’s very exciting news.

Banff National Park is gorgeous from what I’ve heard. Have fun there!

  12. Enjoy your time in Banff! It’s a beautiful area. We have been there twice, about 20 years apart. I’d love to go back.

And enjoy The Littlest Library! It’s charming and hopeful, and left me dreaming of a cottage in England.

    • Thank you, Lark! We just arrived a few hours ago and it’s cold and wet but GORGEOUS! Such a beautiful area.

  13. Great pictures Wendy! I forgot I had The Bodyguard, but once I started it, I didn’t put it down. I hope you have a great week!
