It’s Memorial Day Weekend here in the US, and I’m at home, staying away from the crowds. My town swells with tourists and weekenders in the summer, and it’s busy here! So, we usually stay home and away from the crowds on most weekends, and every holiday weekend.

  1. I’m so paranoid after getting Covid, while being extremely careful, that I’m not ready to even go to family gatherings, so I had a quiet holiday weekend, too. 😊

  2. I’m glad you had a a quiet weekend, Wendy. My son’s family all got covid and I had been with them so I had to isolate for 3 days, then test. I was negative, but had a very quiet weekend working around my property. I have the audiobooks for Hotel Nantucket and Something Wilder. I hope to listen to both of them this week.

  3. I tend to avoid the holiday crowds, too. Not a fan. I was off on Monday but I stuck close to home. Basically just got prepared to return to work on Tuesday after being on PTO the previous week. I’ve been listening to Book Lovers on audio the past 4-5 days and I’m debating on DNF’ing it. I am just not clicking with it, unfortunately.

  4. It’s crazy here over Memorial Day weekend too. There is a big NASCAR race in the area and that brings so many people to the area. I came home from the beach and tried to unpack and rest before venturing back into real life. Have a wonderful week!

    • When I lived in Las Vegas we lived near a NASCAR Track and it was CRAZY when they raced there! Have a great week, Tessa!

  5. I’ll look out for your review of Book Lovers, also Nora Goes Off Script. Hope you have a good reading week.

Great reading week 😊 I usually do the same and avoid my local town in busy times as it gets packed 💕

  7. I think it’s smart to stay home during long weekends – we’ve always done that even when we were working. I do understand why those with limited vacation days travel during these times though. I loved Book Lovers! I have several of these on my reading list including The Hotel Nantucket which I will be starting soon. Have a great week Wendy!

  8. I just finished reading Book Lovers and it was so fun! I loved it. 😀 Enjoy the rest of your weekend.

  9. There’s nothing wrong with a quiet week or weekend. We try to stay away from the high travel weekends too. Enjoy your weekend.

We’re having a quiet weekend here catching up on garden stuff after our week in Italy Have a great week

  11. Happy Memorial Day weekend!

Canada has Victoria Day the weekend before your Memorial Day. It’s much the same story here as regards to huge crowds in tourist-y places (and many parks and beaches, too), so I also make a point of avoiding those spots on that weekend. Haha.

I’ve heard good things about Magic Lessons and am looking forward to your review of that one if you write it.
