What I’m Up To: Snow!

Woke up Tuesday morning to SNOW! Then we drove to the Grand Canyon to camp for a few days.

It’s so beautiful to see the canyon covered in snow. No matter how many times I visit, I always find something new and interesting. We did a 3-mile hike below the rim, the trail was a bit icy, but not too bad and it was so beautiful.

Snow in the canyon with an inversion (clouds fill the canyon)

About a mile below the rim on the Bright Angel Trail.

Mom and baby came to visit us.
The first 1/4 mile of trail was a bit icy!

    • I became a bit obsessed with Shadow and Bone! I had to finish the series, and I just sat and listened to the third book all day yesterday because I HAD to know how it ended! I just loved the whole series. Thanks so much for recommending it to me.

  1. I can’t believe you have had snow already. Is that normal this time of year? The Grand Canyon is so beautiful ❤️ Hope you have a great week!

    • It’s fairly normal for early snow here in Northern Arizona. We live at an elevation of 7000ft, so we get mountain weather!

  2. My week was a bit off between Thanksgiving on Monday and my mom visiting for the first time since 2019. Oh, and hubby took the week off of work. Altogether, my blogging was almost non-existent. I hope to get some things posted this week, especially as I have a review I need to post this week. But I’m not sure how that will work as I managed to hurt my head yesterday. I’m ok, just a bit of a headache and neckache.

  3. Oh wow!!! I grew up in Arizona and we went to the Grand Canyon a billion times, but I’ve never seen it with snow. Only in pictures.

  4. Snow!!! Perfect for reading Christmas books! I have to say that I hope that it doesn’t snow here for a few weeks yet. We haven’t had Autumn yet. Happy Reading.

  5. Snow??!! Wow!! Such lovely pictures you’ve shared.

I’ve been thinking about Shadow and Bone. I’ve read Six of Crows and loved it, but was confused with the Netflix show. Haven’t finished it actually. Maybe I should just try again!

Have a good week and happy reading!

    • Thank you Mareli. I have enjoyed the Shadow and Bone series, I love that it’s about a female here. I’m about to start Six of Crows soon.

  6. I really liked Shadow and Bone, now I need to read on in the series! I watched part of the Netflix show, but haven’t finished it. It’s so dark it is hard to watch if it isn’t dark inside my living room too. But now that it gets dark earlier, I should be able to watch the rest. Looks like some other good books there! Have a good week!

    • I just finished the three books, and have started the Netflix series. I agree that the show is dark, and hard to see unless the room is dark. Have a good week too!
