Stacking The Shelves is a meme hosted by Tynga’s Reviews and ReadingReality all about sharing the books you are adding to your shelves, may it be physical or virtual. This means you can include books you buy in physical store or online, books you borrow from friends or the library, review books, gifts, and of course ebooks! And audiobooks. Don’t forget audiobooks!

No Netgalley this week! I’m trying to catch up and improve my NetGalley ratio.

NetGalley: None

Edelweiss: None

I read the 7th book in this series and loved it. So, now I’m going back to reading this series in order.

Synopsis: With her inquisitive mind, Charlotte Holmes has never felt comfortable with the demureness expected of the fairer sex in upper class society. But even she never thought that she would become a social pariah, an outcast fending for herself on the mean streets of London.

When the city is struck by a trio of unexpected deaths and suspicion falls on her sister and her father, Charlotte is desperate to find the true culprits and clear the family name. She’ll have help from friends new and old—a kind-hearted widow, a police inspector, and a man who has long loved her.

But in the end, it will be up to Charlotte, under the assumed name Sherlock Holmes, to challenge society’s expectations and match wits against an unseen mastermind.

I’ve been wanting to read this series for a while.

Synopsis: The first rule of book club: You don’t talk about book club.

Nashville Legends second baseman Gavin Scott’s marriage is in major league trouble. He’s recently discovered a humiliating secret: his wife Thea has always faked the Big O. When he loses his cool at the revelation, it’s the final straw on their already strained relationship. Thea asks for a divorce, and Gavin realizes he’s let his pride and fear get the better of him.

Welcome to the Bromance Book Club.

Distraught and desperate, Gavin finds help from an unlikely source: a secret romance book club made up of Nashville’s top alpha men. With the help of their current read, a steamy Regency titled Courting the Countess, the guys coach Gavin on saving his marriage. But it’ll take a lot more than flowery words and grand gestures for this hapless Romeo to find his inner hero and win back the trust of his wife.

I’ve been wanting to read more of her backlist.

Synopsis: Jodi Picoult’s poignant number one New York Times best-selling novels about family and love tackle hot-button issues head on. In The Storyteller, Sage Singer befriends Josef Weber, a beloved Little League coach and retired teacher. But then Josef asks Sage for a favor she never could have imagined – to kill him. After Josef reveals the heinous act he committed, Sage feels he may deserve that fate. But would his death be murder or justice?

That’s all I have for this week. Have you read any of these books? What’s on your list to read? Comment below!

  1. I haven’t read any of these. Bromanca bookclub has been on my radar for a really long time but I don’t I can get it as of now. I hope you enjoy it.

  2. Netgalley can get so addictive for me, so I’m trying to be more intentional about what I request and maybe I’ll take a break in the coming weeks too, it’s great that you use the library so much – I wish I had easy access to a library near me but I live in the middle of nowhere so until I move out there’s no library for me! Happy reading!

  3. Wow, good for you, no Net Galley!! Sherry Thomas’ book looks good. I am trying to remember if I read the Jodi Piccoult book, I used to read all of hers…Have a great weekend!

  4. I read the first in the Lady Sherlock and I need to catch up. I loved The Bromance Book Club and the rest of the series. Hope you do too!

  5. It’s good to take a break from Netgalley and Edelweiss sometimes and I try to focus on requesting books that I feel will not be available from my library. I hope that you enjoy these books Wendy.

  6. Great restraint, Wendy. I hope you enjoy the first few books in the Charlotte Holmes books. I am on #4. Are you home or still at your sister’s?

    • I’m still in California. I’m enjoying the Charlotte Holmes books so far. I’m about halfway through the first book.

A study in Scarlet Women looks brilliant. I hope you enjoy these Wendy. I was doing really well at not requesting any more books on Net Galley and then I got an invitation to read a book. It seemed rude to say no 😃

    • It’s so hard to say no to the invitations. I’ve always said yes, but now, I just don’t have the time to agree to everything

A great library haul, it is good to have a Netgalley break sometimes 💕
