Stacking The Shelves is a meme hosted by Tynga’s Reviews and Reading Reality all about sharing the books you are adding to your shelves, may it be physical or virtual. This means you can include books you buy in physical store or online, books you borrow from friends or the library, review books, gifts, and of course ebooks! And audiobooks. Don’t forget audiobooks!

Only one book this week.

NetGalley:

Publication Date: November 1, 2022

I liked the blurb in this book. I am wondering why she’s never left her home, and how she will overcome it.

Synopsis: Meredith Maggs hasn’t left her house in 1,214 days. But she insists she isn’t alone.

She has a full-time remote job and her rescue cat Fred. Her best friend Sadie visits with her two children.  There’s her online support group, her jigsaw puzzles and favorite recipes, her beloved Emily Dickinson, the internet, the grocery delivery man.  Also keeping her company are treacherous memories of an unstable childhood, the estrangement from her sister, and a traumatic event that had sent her reeling.

But something’s about to change. Whether Meredith likes it or not, the world is coming to her door.

Does she have the courage to overcome what’s been keeping her inside all this time?

That’s all I have for this week. Have you read any of these books? What’s on your list to read? Comment below!

  1. I love Meredith already! Jigsaw puzzles, a rescue cat and books! What’s not to love? Sometimes the outside world is overrated. I personally love being home. Hope this is a win, Wendy! I want to check this one out too!

  2. This is intriguing! I’m wondering if she has a mental or physical health reason for not leaving her home?

  3. That sounds like an interesting read. I’ve never read a story with an agoraphobic, at least that’s what it sounds like she is.

  4. Sounds a nice one, though I’m sure the character will have to take a big leap to enjoy it all. But I love that she likes jigsaws, since I do too:)

  5. I love the sound of this book Wendy! I’m curious to find out what’s kept Meredith inside for so long. I look forward to reading your review.
