Can’t Wait Wednesday is a weekly meme hosted by Wishful Endings, to spotlight and discuss the books we’re excited about that we have yet to read. Generally, they’re books that have yet to be released. It’s based on Waiting on Wednesday, hosted by Jill at Breaking the Spine.
Synopsis:
“In ‘Keystone Kops’–style scenes set around the morgue, a muddy mountain, and the hardware store, bones and books disappear and reappear…[On Spine of Death] is a quirky story for those who enjoy funny cozies.”—Library Journal
Bestselling author Tess Harrow and her teenage daughter Gertrude have decided to make Winthrop their home. Their cabin is fixed up and now they’re turning to the family hardware store that Tess inherited from her late grandfather into the town’s first independent bookstore.
But when renovations unearth bones from a cold case and send them toppling—literally—onto Tess’s head, the work comes to a grinding halt. With the whole town convinced that her grandfather was a serial killer, Tess has to call in a fellow horror author for reinforcements. Together, they’ll come up with a perfect story to make all the clues fit…and solve a mystery more than thirty years in the making.
Why I Can’t Wait!
I enjoyed the first book in the series, Buried in a Good Book, So I’m really looking forward to this next book.
What book or books are you anxiously waiting for? Comment below!
This sounds like a good book and fun series, Wendy. I found the first one on Scribd, so will read it before this one that I was approved for. I hope you enjoy it as much as Buried in a Good Book.
I’d like to read more cozy mysteries. Maybe I’ll add this series to my tbr. I hope you enjoy reading it, Wendy!
Enjoy your reading, Wendy!
Thank you, Jolene!
It sounds like a great spooky season read! 💀

This sounds like a fun one. I like the horror author accomplice element.
It’s a cute series, so I have high hopes for this one.
I thoroughly enjoyed the first book and was really looking forward to this one. This is the first time I’ve read the blurb though and now I’m doubly excited as this sounds like such a great mystery.
It does sound great. I hope we both love it.
I was just saying I want to read Buried in a Good Book! Didn’t know the 2nd book would be out soon. The only drawback is that I don’t think they have audio versions so it makes it harder to fit them in.
Oh no. I love audiobooks too. I hope you find a way to get to this series someday
A perfect spooky season read. 🙂
I agree, Sohpia!
This sounds great! I love cozy mysteries and want to add this to my list too! Thank you for sharing Wendy!
This is such a good cozy mystery series!
I do love a good cosy and this sounds really good.
Thank you, Cathy.
Ha love the titles! Cozies are fun that way… :):)
They are so much fun! Thanks, Greg.
There are so many that have already been published for years that I want to read, so I tend not to look ahead too much at ones that haven’t been published yet, but there are some I definitely want to read – #4 in The Fairy Garden Mysteries (A Flicker of Doubt) and #3 in the Grilled Cheese Mysteries (Cheddar Late Than Dead). Both will be published next year. I also want to finish the Hannah Swensen series. I’m only on #16 and #29 is due out next year. So I have some catching up to do while reading other ones that interest me too. 🙂
I’m waiting for the next Grilled Cheese mystery too. I only have 3 cozy mystery series going, as they can get complicated to keep up with
This sounds like a fun book for fall. I hope you love it.
Thank you, Deanna
This sounds like a great fall read. I’ll have to add the first book to my wishlist.
I hope you enjoy it when you get to it.
First of all, I just love the colors on that cover. They are really striking! And second, it also sounds like a great story. I love that it’s set around a morgue. Just sounds like a cosy spooky season read!
I think you’re right, it’s going to be fun.
This looks like a fun series! I’ll have to add it to my list.
I hope you enjoy it, Joanna!

Somehow, that cover looks light-hearted even though there’s an ax and a grave! I hope you enjoy it.
This series, so far, has been a lot of fun, so I expect that this one will be too.
Great choice Wendy! I’m excited for this one too!🤗📚☕💜
I’m sure it’s going to be a good one!
