Can’t Wait Wednesday is a weekly meme hosted by Wishful Endings, to spotlight and discuss the books we’re excited about that we have yet to read. Generally, they’re books that have yet to be released. It’s based on Waiting on Wednesday, hosted by Jill at Breaking the Spine.
Synopsis:
The Kingsley family is American royalty, beloved for their military heroics, political service, and unmatched elegance. In 1967, after Joseph S. Kingsley, Jr. is killed in a tragic accident, his charismatic son inherits the weight of that legacy. But Joe III is a free spirit—and a little bit reckless. Despite his best intentions, he has trouble meeting the expectations of a nation, as well as those of his exacting mother, Dottie.
Meanwhile, no one ever expected anything of Cate Cooper. She, too, grew up fatherless—and after her mother marries an abusive man, she is forced to fend for herself. After being discovered by a model scout at age sixteen, Cate decides that her looks may be her only ticket out of the cycle of disappointment that her mother has always inhabited. Before too long, Cate’s face is in magazines and on billboards. Yet she feels like a fraud, faking it in a world to which she’s never truly belonged.
When Joe and Cate unexpectedly cross paths one afternoon, their connection is instant and intense. But can their relationship survive the glare of the spotlight and the so-called Kingsley curse? In a beautifully written novel that captures a gilded moment in American history, Emily Giffin tells the story of two people searching for belonging and identity, as well as the answer to the question: Are certain love stories meant to be?

I hope this is a wonderful read for you!
That’s a lovely cover. It makes me yearn for summer when my husband and I go sailing.
Oh, fun! I have never sailed but would like to one day. Enjoy your summer sailing.
I haven’t read Emily Giffon before, but I’m intrigued. I love the water color on the cover.
I’ve only read a couple of books by Emily Giffin, but I’ve enjoyed them very much.
This one does sound good. I hope you enjoy it when you get a chance to read it 🙂

Thank you, Mareli! Yes, I have plenty of good books to read this weekend. Happy Easter to your and your family.
Oh that’s a fun cover. With those colors, it just really evokes an older boating type vibe, if that even makes sense ha.
Yes, it does. I think of The Kennedy’s when I see that cover.
First of all, I love that cover. It’s really beautiful! And I also am loving the synopsis. I wanna read it now! 😀
It sure looks like fun.
Hope you enjoy when you get the chance to read 💕

Good review. Unfortunately, I can’t get past the American Royalty. It does exist to the detriment of our country. I guess I’m getting old, but I am just not interested in that theme.
I can understand that, Linda.
I’m excited to read this one too Wendy! Great pick!🤗📚❤
I hope we both love it!
I haven’t read her yet but her books are so popular and this one sounds good.
She’s so good.
I used to read all her books as soon as they came out, but slowed down lately due to all the new authors I have been reading. This one does sound good, Wendy. Maybe time to get back to her books.
It was a good one. But, I understand, so many books…. so little time!
Ooo…this does look good. ❤️
Thank you, Tessa.
