I really enjoyed this wonderful, heartwarming story that takes place in a picturesque setting in a seaside village in Cornwall.
Tressa Buckland lives in the quiet seaside village of Port Lowdy. She works at the local paper part time, giving her time to pursue her art. She lives in Mermaid Terrace with her cat Ginger Pickles. She’s happy with her life until her boss has to go away and tend to his wife who is undergoing cancer treatment.
She has to hire a temporary, part time journalist to help her take over the newspaper, and finds Dan Byrne, an experienced journalist from Dublin. He’s known as the angriest man in Ireland, and she’s the happiest person in Port Lowdy. Dan had to leave his high profile job in Dublin because of a bad story he wrote. He needs time to re evaluate his career.
As they work together to get the newspaper printed they find out they have an attraction, but can their different background be overcome?
This book is just so pleasant to read. What could be better than two opposites, thrown together in an idyllic setting, with conflicting motivations and an attraction too strong to ignore. A cat named Ginger Pickles and a Golden Retriever named Ritchie just add to the enjoyment of this book.
