Stacking The Shelves is a meme hosted by Tynga’s Reviews and Reading Reality all about sharing the books you are adding to your shelves, may it be physical or virtual. This means you can include books you buy in physical store or online, books you borrow from friends or the library, review books, gifts, and of course ebooks! And audiobooks. Don’t forget audiobooks!
Only two books this week, and none last week. I have a lot of books still in my queue, and don’t want to over-commit.
NetGalley:
I read the previous books in this series and really enjoyed them.
Synopsis: New York Times and USA Today bestseller Roni Loren brings the heat in this compelling story of:
A woman struggling to find her place in the world
A man with a secret inner life
An unexpected friendship with sizzling benefits
And an emotional turning point that changes everything.
Eliza Catalano has the perfect life. So what if it actually looks nothing like the story she tells online? As a therapist, it’s part of her job to look like she has all the answers, right? But when Eliza ends up as a viral “Worst Date Ever” meme, everything in her Instagram-filtered world begins to crumble.
Enter the most obnoxiously attractive man she’s ever met, and a bet she can’t resist: if she swears off social media for six months, Beck Carter’ll teach her the wonders of surviving the “real world.” No technology, no dating apps, no pretty filters, no BS.
It seems like the perfect deal-she can lay low until her sudden infamy passes, meet some interesting new people, and maybe even curate this experience into a how I quit the online dating racket book along the way. But something about Beck’s raw honesty speaks to Eliza in ways she never expected. She knows he’s supposed to be completely hands-off…but as complex feelings grow and walls come tumbling down, rough-around-the-edges Beck may be exactly what Eliza needs to finally, truly face herself-and decide who she really wants to be.
This is by a debut author from Canada and it sounds like a lovely story.
Synopsis: Six summers to fall in love. One moment to fall apart. A weekend to get it right.
They say you can never go home again, and for Persephone Fraser, ever since she made the biggest mistake of her life a decade ago, that has felt too true. Instead of glittering summers on the lakeshore of her childhood, she spends them in a stylish apartment in the city, going out with friends, and keeping everyone a safe distance from her heart.
Until she receives the call that sends her racing back to Barry’s Bay and into the orbit of Sam Florek—the man she never thought she’d have to live without.
For six summers, through hazy afternoons on the water and warm summer nights working in his family’s restaurant and curling up together with books—medical textbooks for him and work-in-progress horror short stories for her—Percy and Sam had been inseparable. Eventually that friendship turned into something breathtakingly more, before it fell spectacularly apart.
When Percy returns to the lake for Sam’s mother’s funeral, their connection is as undeniable as it had always been. But until Percy can confront the decisions she made and the years she’s spent punishing herself for them, they’ll never know whether their love might be bigger than the biggest mistakes of their past.
Told over the course of six years and one weekend, Every Summer After is a big, sweeping nostalgic story of love and the people and choices that mark us forever.
That’s all I have for this week. Have you read any of these books? What’s on your list to read? Comment below!
NetGalley is dangerous and I’m impressed by your restraint! I’m finishing up a few books that I’ll hopefully get done by the end of the month. I think I will but it will be a bit close. Enjoy your books and have a wonderful week!
I like the sound of Every Summer After. Hope you enjoy both books Wendy. The last couple of weeks I went a little overboard on NetGalley and Edelweiss, now to bring it back to manageable levels🙂
Thank you, Mallika! I over requested most of the winter! So, my queue is out of control!
These both sound really good!
Thank you, Carrie!
Every Summer After definitely sounds like an intriguing book! I’m very interested 🙂
Thank you, Caroline. I agree, it sure looks good.
Whenever I think of Canada, I always think of Robin on HIMYM or Ryan Reynolds. LOL. Both books sounds really interesting. I’ll have to look into them more closely.
Robin Sparkles! LOL. I was born in Canada but moved away when I was 3 years old, so I like that country.
Both these book seem so interesting. Inspired me to finish my current book and get on to my stack
Thank you!
I’m also trying to not overcommit with my reviews. I received one book for review this week: All That it Takes by Nicole Deese.
Well done! It’s so hard to resist all those books! But, If I requested everything I wanted, I’d never stop reading.
I love the sound of Every Summer After. The cover is so beautiful and has me looking forward to warmer days. I can’t wait to read your review for both! I hope you’re having a great weekend!
I’m ready for warmer days too! Have a great weekend!
I am still working on the not overcommitting thing too! I have a lot in the next month or so that I have already committed to, but I am being careful 🙂 I hope you enjoy these!
I have a BUNCH in April, which seems like a popular month for publishing. I hope you enjoy your books!
For You and No One Else looks good. And I’m totally with you on the overcommitting. I’ve been very careful too.
It’s so hard to resist all those great books. I hope that For You and No One else is as good as the other books in the series.
These sound good, but you are wise not to over-commit. I was going along just fine with my queue until some big life changes surprised me several years in a row. I have been struggling ever since with getting back on top of my reading despite so many good books enticing me and the addition of access to a library. It looks like this year, God willing and with a continuing book request diet on my part, I may actually get a a grip on my list. I hope so as there is always an undercurrent of stress when I see that I have committed to more than I can achieve in a timely fashion. I love reading, but I hate stress.🤪
I’m glad you’re getting it under control. I’m doing pretty good now, but I want to get out and do some traveling this summer, so want to make sure I can manage it all.
Reading is good and important, but after several years of lockdowns, we really do need to get out and live! Good for you!
These both sound great. Good luck with tackling all the books in your queue X
Thank you, Janette. I am doing pretty good for now. Just don’t want to get overwhelmed
My haul this week is out of control!🤷🤦 Great job keeping yours at a sane level Wendy!🤗📚☕💜
Thank you, Susan! There are so many great books out there, it’s so hard to resist.

Great job keeping those requests down. You got me with Canadian author, plus it does sound good. I just requested it.
It sure sound interesting. I hope we both enjoy it.
