What I’m up to:
It was wonderful to see the LA Rams win the Super Bowl last Sunday, it was a great game, and both teams played exceptionally well. I was so glad it was a close game as it is so much more exciting.
We took another quick trip to Phoenix Monday and Tuesday for a doctor’s appointment. It was in the 80s in Phoenix, and then we came back home to Flagstaff and we snow! Just an inch, but enough to cover the ground.
This was the view from my house after the snowstorm.
Last week I read:
I had a good week of reading!
Audiobooks I listened to:
Next week I hope to get to:
What I watched:
I grew up watching I Love Lucy and The Lucille Ball Show, and I really enjoyed this Amazon Prime movie, Being the Ricardos, starring Nicole Kidman as Lucy. I had always heard that Lucy was a tough cookie, and in this movie, we get to see that.

I was thrilled to see LA win as well, but that’s because I wanted Matt Stafford to win. Being the Riccardos really calls to me. I grew up watching the various Lucy shows. Sounds like it was a good week, Wendy.
Thank you, Carla.
Being the Ricardos looks like an interesting film for sure.
The only thing I know about Lucy’s personal life (other than who she was married to, of course) was that she apparently worked behind the scenes to make Star Trek happen as a producer. Or at least that’s the story I’ve heard!
I hope everything went well in Phoenix. One of my coworkers will be flying to Phoenix tomorrow to bring his sister home–she was traveling there and ended up with appendicitis of all things. She’s having surgery there and then he’ll bring her home. I am glad you had a good week of reading. I want to read The League of Gentlemen Witches. I still need to read The Wisteria Society of Lady Scoundrels though. I hope you have a great week, Wendy.
What a beautiful mountain view! Enjoy your upcoming reads!
Thank you, Jolene! You too!
Oh wow, what a change in weather! We had a day in 50 degree weather and snow the next day. My body hates it lol.
Yes, it’s tough to have such dramatic changes in temperature!
That is an amazing picture of your mountain view. Love it.
Thank you! I do love my view!
I’m glad your team won! I somehow missed the whole Super Bowl. I guess I was too focused on the snacks. 🙂
I’d probably miss the Super Bowl too if my husband and son didn’t watch it!
The League of Gentlemen Witches have been tempting me for a while, and now The Cousins of Pemberly are calling out my name too 🙂 And I am so awed by how your coming week is all laid out as well..
Thank you! I try to stay organized. The League of Gentlewomen Witches was so much fun!
The Jenny Colgan looks fantastic. She’s one of my favorite authors. I have the Seven Husbands on Audible but I haven’t listened to it yet. I’m looking forward to it and hopefully will get to it soon. Have a wonderful week!
Jenny Colgan is excellent. I listened to The Seven Husbands and loved the narration and the book! Hope you can get to it soon
I’m planning to listen to the Maid soon. I have it on reserve at the library. Thanks for the Lucy recommendation. I’m sure I’ll enjoy it.
Thank you Anne. I hope you enjoy The Maid, I sure did!
Your view is breathtaking. An awesome list of books, happy reading.
Thank you very much.
I always loved watching Lucy growing up! My mom was a big fan so we’d watch re- runs.
I’m looking forward to hopefully reading the Maid soon.
Lucy was such a great comedienne. I hope you enjoy The Maid, I sure did.
80-degree weather sounds so nice. I’m so jealous of people who live in Phoenix. I’m glad I don’t live there full-time, though, because the summer weather is unbearable. Even though the winter is blah, I don’t mind the cold most of the time. I also love how the world looks with newly fallen snow, especially when there are beautiful mountains in the background. I’ll never move back east. I must live near the mountains.
Also, congrats on your team winning the Super Bowl! I’m glad it was an exciting game.
Thank you, Jenni! I love it here as I can drive to Phoenix or Sedona when I get tired of the snow, and the summer here in Flagstaff is just beautiful.
The view is breath-taking, thanks for sharing it with us. I am supposed to go with my youth group bowling in a little bit, praying that my very bad headache goes away so I can go! Have a great day!
I hope your headache went away. I had one this morning, and it faded pretty fast, hope yours does too.
Isn’t it crazy to go from 80 degrees to snow? It keeps us on our toes and appreciating whatever weather we have when we have it! Have a great week!
Thank you, Linda! I like the changing weather.
It was a really close superbowl game!! The picture of the mountains is beautiful!
Thank you, Samantha!
What a gorgeous view from your home!
The League of Gentlewomen Witches looks so interesting. From your list, I’ve read The Maid and Evelyn Hugo and enjoyed them both.
I’m looking forward to your review of the Matt Haig which I’ve heard so much about but am yet to read
The Midnight Library is just so good! I hope you’re able to get to it soon.
The League of Gentlemen Witches sounds so good! I really want to read it!
The view from your house after the snowstorm is so pretty!
I just finished The League of Gentlewomen Witches and it’s action-packed. I really enjoyed it.
Your mountains are breathtaking. I love my little lake but it doesn’t compare to the beauty of your mountains ❤️
Thank you, Tessa! When we were househunting, I walked inside this house and I saw those mountains through the back windows and fell in love.
Looks like you had a great week, hope this week is great too 😊
Thank you, Jenny! Hope you have a great week too!
