The Bookstore on the Beach
by Brenda Novak

Four (and a half!) Stars ⭐⭐⭐⭐✫
Another wonderful family saga from Brenda Novak. This book is about three generations of women, all who have life-changing events happen to them during the summer at the Bookstore on the Beach.

Autumn Divac has been searching for her missing husband for the past 18 months, since he walked out the door and disappeared without a clue. Frustrated with the lack of progress on her search, Autumn takes her two teenage children to her mothers hometown for the summer. Her mother, Mary owns a Bookstore on the Beach along with her Aunt. Going back to her hometown, without her husband, Autumn learns to let go and live again. All three generations of women, Mary, Autumn and her daughter, Taylor, have huge decisions to make, and secrets they keep from each other and their family.

I enjoyed this book very much. There were a few twists and turns that surprised me, and I like that. The setting, on the beach, makes for a nice background to the story full of drama and angst.

The writing is very good and moves the story along at a good pace. The character development is excellent, especially the three main characters, Mary, Autumn and Taylor. I felt their pain and anguish as the events of the story unfolded.
