What I’m Up To:
I had a quiet week and got a lot of reading done. We’ve had more rain this week, which is very unusual. We’ve had 5 times the amount of rain as we usually get during a monsoon season (June 15 – Sept 30). So, for this last week, we’ve had sunny mornings and then afternoon thunderstorms which make for great reading weather!
Last week I read:
Next week I hope to get to:
What I’m watching:
I’ve been binge-watching the Australian series, Offspring, on Netflix for the past few weeks. “The story of the impossible loves of 30-something obstetrician Nina Proudman and her fabulously messy family.”
I found the series to be funny, heartwarming, uplifting, romantic, with a lot of family drama. I really enjoyed all seven seasons of Offspring.

Have you read any of these books? What are you hoping to read this next week? What have you been up to last week? Comment below!
I have a lot of Christmas books on my list too. It’s only four months away, can you believe it?
Thank you Bonnie, It sure is coming up fast!
I just went to Netgalley and got approved for Colorado Christmas Magic. Thanks for the recommendation
Thanks Bonnie, it was pretty good. A sweet romance for sure.
I can’t believe you’ll be reading Christmas books this week but then again, I guess I can. Where does the time go? I look forward to hearing more about those lovely books ❤️ So glad your week was good. Hope this week goes just as well or better!
Thank you Tessa! I am enjoying reading the Christmas books. Have a great week too!
I am glad you are taking advantage of the summer reading weather. I love the cover of Beneath a Starless Sky. I hope you enjoy your upcoming reads! I hope you have a great week, Wendy!
Thank you! I hope you have a great week too!
You are doing much better at reading all those books out in the next couple weeks. I like Serena Bell so I might enjoy that one. But I can’t add to my review TBR right now at all. I wish we were getting a little more rain, but at least we are getting a little when earlier in the month it wasn’t happening. I am just hanging inside until the fall cool down.
Thank you Anne. It’s been a reading marathon week for me last week. The Serena Bell book was pretty good. A bit steamy, but not too bad, and the story was very good. I hope you get some rain and some cooler weather soon!
I see that Offspring is on Netflix and that one of the stars of it is currently in Nine Perfect Strangers, which I’m watching, so I might check it out!
Thank you Jinjer! Now I’m going to have to check out Nine Perfect Strangers! It sounds so good.
Rain does make the best reading weather. 🙂
Hope you have a good week.
Thank you Nicci, it sure does!
We got a lot of rain where I live this week, too. Which was awesome because we’re in the middle of an ‘exceptional drought’ this summer. Glad you got so much reading done. I have a copy of Serena Bell’s Make Me Wilder, but I haven’t read it yet. Did you like Walk on the Wilder Side?
Thank you Lark, I did like Walk on the Wilder Side. It’s a bit steamier than I expected, but the story is really good. I hope you enjoy Make Me Wilder.
That is a LOT of reading!! That is awesome! I am hoping to get a chance to read Melody Carlson’s book. I think the series “Offspring” sounds great, but haven’t made time for TV in quite a while. Have a great week!
Thank you Cindy. I didn’t do much else all week except to read! Retirement allows me to do that. Christmas in the Alps by Melody Carson was pretty good, I think you’ll enjoy it if you get the chance.
I love rainy weather for reading! Lucky you. Wow, you got a lot of reading done! I’m looking forward to The Brightest Star in Paris as I loved The Widow of Rose House! I just requested so we’ll see what happens. Strange that the covers are so different in theme being that they’re related, right? I like the cover of The Widow of Rose House more.
Thank you, Rachel. I did just finish the Brightest Star in Paris and I really enjoyed it! It was so much more fun than I expected. I have not read The Widow of Rose House, however those characters, Alva and Sam do make an appearance in The Brightest Star in Paris. So, now I have to go back and read the Widow of Rose House!
Happy reading Wendy! Enjoy the rainy days!☔️
Thank you Kaceey. We normally don’t get much rain, so we really appreciate it when we do!
